[Risolto] impossibile installare Drivers Wireless su Dell 600 (B43 Legacy)
Al momento di installare i Driver Hardware il sistema ho rilevato la scheda Wireless a cui servivano i Drivers Aggiuntivi ma al momento dell'installazione mi è apparso messaggio di errore.
I drivers in questione non possono essere installati per motivi legali.
Si tratta dei Broadcom B43 Legacy Wireless
Ho appena acquistato un modem Wireless D-Link DSL-2640B
come posso risolvere ?
al momento di scaricare il Messaggio di Errore dice :

Comunque negli installer (ubiquity) delle ultime versioni i driver Broadcom dovrebbero venire istallati in fase di prima istallazione spuntando "abilita sorgenti software proprietario" (o qualcosa di analogo).

All'inizio volevo solo preparare l'installazione con Gparted poi ho proseguito.
Tu invece mi consigli distribuzioni più recenti ? Provare con la 10.04 non avrebbe senso ?
ma davvero non posso trovare quei drivers e far riconoscere la scheda Wireless del Dell 600 ??

Visto che l'istallazione è così fresca ne vale la pena?
Istallare 10.04, per me, ha ancora molto senso!All'inizio volevo solo preparare l'installazione con Gparted poi ho proseguito.

...e verrà supportata minimo fino ad Aprile 2013.
Scaricando l'ultima versione disponibile nella pagina ufficiale (la 10.04-4) dovresti trovare l'ultima versione di ubiquity.
Sei sicuro di avere abilitato le sorgenti di terze parti?ma davvero non posso trovare quei drivers e far riconoscere la scheda Wireless del Dell 600 ??

no credo di no è un sistema nuovissimo appena installato, avevo cominciato dagli Aggiornamenti, Lingua e Driver Hardware

Il fatto che proprio con una ralink, che non c'entra niente con broadcom, riesca a funzionare mi fa pensare...avevo provato (e funziona) una scheda PCMCIA Wireless ed ecco il risultato allo stesso comando :

Potrebbe essere dovuto al fatto che avendo una scheda ethernet BCM vengano caricati i moduli ssb che, notoriamente, disturbano la gestione delle schede wifi.
Che tu ti ritrovi in uso sia i b43-pci-bridge che i b43legacy potrebbe essere risolto blacklistando i moduli.
Si tratta di fare qualche prova per vedere quali sono i meno peggio.
