Caso strano di Swap inattivo

Problemi riscontrati durante l'installazione di Ubuntu, degli aggiornamenti e degli avanzamenti del sistema.

Caso strano di Swap inattivo

Dopo aver fatto upgrade dal 16.4 a 18.4 ho notato che l'avvio era eccessivamente lento (rispetto a prima da 30 secondi a 3 minuti), tornato indietro la lentezza è rimasta anche se ridotta 2 minuti
Cercando Avvio lento, ho letto del file fstab in etc che non permette a di attivare lo swap , che in effetti èpresente, ma non attivo e non si vuole attivare al riavvio.

Ho visto che da me è così composto:

Nel mio caso l'Hd con Mate è partizionato come dev/ sdc1 /, dev sdc2 /home , dev/sdc3 swap rispetticamente di 30, 426 e 10 giga

Ho fatto delle prove modificandolo, ma non succedeva nulla, fino a che non so sostituito l'ultima riga togliende quell'UUID ... e lasciando: none swap sw 0 0
Il sistema da un messaggio di errore durante l'avvio, ma si avvia in 30 secondi.

:o Che faccio lascio così? Sembra funzionare..

Le ultime distribuzioni di linux a partire dalla 15.04 (se non sbaglio) il nuovo sistema di init è basato su systemd, e non più SysV, e la swap non è più necessaria.

Quello che succede, secondo me è che, all'avvio cerca di montare una partizione contrassegnata come swap, ma il sistema non sà come trattarla, perchè non riconosce più la swap, quindi tenta invano di montare una partizione sconosciuta e questo rallenta enormemente la sequenza di boot.

La swap, con systemd viene automaticamente creata dal sistema operativo, e viene espansa e contratta in base alle esigenze del sistema stesso. Se vuoi modificare la swap devi agire su un parametro che si chiama swappiness.

Prova ad eliminare completamente la partizione di swap, modifica di conseguenza l'fstab e vedi se ottieni miglioramenti.

Già che ci sei, posta anche il risultato di:

Ho cancellato lo swap con gparted, e eliminato l'ultima riga da fstab

Il sistema si avvia dopo 45 secondi senza dare errori.

Se nonhai errori direi che puoi lasciarlo così. Se vuoi hai ampi margini per rendere ulteriormente più rapida la tua sequenza di boot, modificando alcune impostazioni e servizi, ma non ho capito se sei interessato o meno a rendere più rapido il tuo boot.
