non riesco a far funzionare lo scanner, ho provato di tutto....

la multifunzione Brother l'hai installata tramite il pacchetto Driver install tool scaricato dal sito del produttore?


da terminale connesso ad Internet installa libsane-extras

Lo scanner della brother c'è, gli outputs che hai postato vanno bene, tranne l'ultimo che dice "Not registered".

brother.conf non esiste, c'è brother2.conf, per sicurezza cmq l'ho creato uguale

simple scan vede lo scanner, ma poi dice "unable to connect to scanner"
xsane all'avvio invece mi dice "failed to open device brother2:bus6;dev1

Le librerie sono installate.

Vai su Impostazioni di sistema > Stampanti, clicca sull'icona della stampante Brother col tasto destro del mouse, seleziona Elimina.

Da terminale dai questi comandi:

sudo apt-get purge brscan-skey brscan2 printer-driver-brlaser printer-driver-ptouch


dopo che ha rimosso i pacchetti entra nella cartella dove hai salvato i pacchetti per la tua stampante.

Rifai la procedura dell'installazione col Driver install tool, dando questi comandi:

scusa il ritardo ma questa settimana non ho avuto tempo....
avrò rifatto la procedura che hai indicato almeno 4 o 5 volte senza nessun esito, stavolta però xsane si avvia, anche se quando provo ad avviare lo scanner mi dice "failed to start scanner invalid argument"
simple scan invece dice "unable to connect to scanner"

oggi xsane parte come sudo, da utente normale invece dice "failed to open device brother2:bus6;dev4 invalid argument"

vai su RUN=no mettilo su yes

salva ed esci dall'editor di testo.

Prova di nuovo lo scanner, se ancora non dovesse funzionare riavvia il pc.

nada :(
ho dovuto riavviare perché service restart mi diceva che il servizio è masked
mi sa che faccio prima a cambiare scanner....
eppure mi ricordo che qualche anno fa con un'altra versione di ubuntu andava....
