[Firefox] Strani crash, apparentemente random

Ciao a tutti dopo l' ultimo aggiornamento, firefox è diventato stranamente instabile, crasha frequntemente, anche se provo ad aprire le preferenze.

emhh mi sono accorto che non avevo firefox-dbg installato, l' ho installato ed ho ripetuto, il problema è sempre lo stesso

secondo voi è possibile che sia stato compilato male firefox per cercare librerie dove non ci sono?
e perchè il programma si avvia (funziona finche non apro preferenze o cerca di caricare qualche pagina che non ho annotato quale sia) e il debugger no?

edit3: ad esempio navigando mi capita SEMPRE quando dalla home page di gxmame clicco su download, vengo rediretto su sourceforge, si apre la finestra di dialogo del download e boom, si pianta e o si chiude, o lo debbo killare
