premetto che ho una scheda video ATI X1300 con due monitor collegati; al momento uso Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy 64bit ma il problema che pongo l'ho riscontrato anche su Ubuntu 7.4 Feisty 64bit.
Avendo scheda ati per attivare compiz e beryl ho necessità di utilizzare XGL anche perkè la mia X1300 ATI ha parecchi problemi con i driver open, cmq quando utilizzo la sessione non XGL il BigDesktop funziona bene, le finestre si aprono tranquillamente in uno o nell'altro monitor invece con XGL le finestre si aprono coprendo entrambi i monitor senza far distinzione tra il 1° e il 2° monitor ed è alquanto fastidioso avendo i monitor non di eguale grandezza.
Lo startxgl.sh che uso per avviare XGL è:
