compiz-fusion non mi parte

salve,
ho provato il live di gutsy (t3)  più che altro per vedere gli effetti di compiz-fusion e dal cd mi funzionavano perfettamente.
Ho deciso allora di sostituire la mia 7.04 con la 7.10 ma compiz-fusion non mi funziona.
Se da sistema->preferenze->apparence cerco di avviare gli effetti di compiz mi da delle finestre di errore nvidia hardware not found (io ho un'ATI x200 su portatile! ) e che non è possibile avviare composite.
Se invece provo a lanciare compiz da linea di comando mi da il seguente errore:

Per quando riguarda i driver credo che dovrebbero essere installati bene, in quanto tutti i vari test e rotazione di ingranaggi  funzionano alla perfezione.

E' un po strano che con il live funzioni e con la distro completa no... :-\

cerca XGL ma non lo trova...significa che hai installato i driver proprietari fglrx...in teoria.

mai fatto su gutsy, quindi non so se funza...con certezza

con la tua scheda cmq..puoi usare AIGLX e i driver open...

Devo fare una piccola rettifica >:(
Dopo numerosi tentativi ho riprovato il liveCd e neanche con il live mi funziona compiz. Ho provato il live sui portatili di amici e parenti e avrò fatto un po di confuzione. comunque....morale della favola compiz non mi funge nenache con il live.
Precisato ciò, ho provato a disinstallare i driver proprietari e a mettere quelli open, ma a parte prestazioni scadenti (interfaccia grafica lentissima!) non ho il direct rendering abilitato! :-( cosa che con i driver proprietari funzionava perfettamente.
Non saprei proprio come raccapezzarmi!
E' possibile installare aiglx con i driver ati?

Compiz funziona con AIGLX di default.
Nel caso del driver proprietario ATI questo cerca XGL non supportando AIGLX.
Il problema è solo momentaneo, perchè dopo tante richieste alla AMD/ATI hanno deciso di fare driver come si deve per Linux.
SI tratta di aspettare un paio di mesi (forse).

a me non funzionava poi oggi ho installato compizconfig setting manager  sono andato in general option, dimensioni virtuali orizzontali4,dimensioni virtuali verticali1,numero desktop1    in questo modo il cubo si può ruotare sia con il mouse e tastiera o cliccando le aree di lavoro....

non so, ci ho provato in tutti i modi ma non mi parte. poi ho provato a installare beryl (pacchetti telperion) e va che è un SCHEGGIA.

Leggere questo topic mi ha fatto sorgere un dubbio su XGL e AIGLX ...uso Gutsy Tribe 5, aggiornata a oggi e se attivo gli effetti desktop funzionano perfettamente ma alcuni sono molto lenti, ad esempio se clicco su Applicazioni devo aspettare tre/quattro secondi prima che la finestra si apra e per ridimensionare una finestra devo prenderne un lato e "tirarlo" dopodichè rimane in posizione almeno cinque secondi perchè l'operazione venga eseguita.
Questo non mi succedeva su Feisty dove avevo installato Compiz-Fusion.
La differenza può essere che su Feisty usavo una scheda video integrata i810, mentre quando sono passato a Gutsy ho installato una nvidia Geforce FX 5500 installando i driver proprietari... la risposta può essere nel mio xorg.conf?

Ho notato che nella sezione dei moduli, su Feisty (con xorg.conf configurato per la scheda video integrata) c'erano molte più voci.
