Ho provato a fare l'azzardato upgrade tramite il comando

update-manager -d

poi clicco su avanzamento e via di seguito ma dopo lo scaricamento dello "Strumento di avanzamento versione" non parte nulla.

La console restituisce questo

Il bug è già stato segnalato ed è in fase di risoluzione: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... bug/141060.

P.S. Metto in evidenza perchè è un problema che affligge moltissimi utenti.

oggi hanno aggiornato l'update manger e ho provato a fare l'upgrade al gibbone cn update-manager -d da terminale e sta andando ... mi sta scaricando i pakketti (1190 O_O ... ) proprio ora ...

In feisty-proposed c'è il pacchetto aggiornato, riprova dopo averlo installato.

sono i repository di getdeb che ti danno problemi...

disabilita ogni repository non ufficiale dal tuo /etc/apt/sources.list

Poi devi aggiornare il sistema e poi usare i soliti comandi:

sudo sed -e 's/\sfeisty/ gutsy/g' -i /etc/apt/sources.list

Se tutto va bene, basta eseguire il vero e proprio comando di aggiornamento (io consiglio update-manager) :

sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Oppure, esegui:

sudo update-manager -c -d

(per avere in modo grafico l'aggiornamento)

Cmq prima conviene fare una bella pulizia e installare il pacchetto ubuntu-desktop. Alcune volte credo (a me fino ad ora non è mai servito) tocca fare anche un downgrade di alcuni pacchetti.

Ti salvi quello di feisty e poi aggiungerai in seguito le righe dei repo esterni in quello nuovo...no?

Molti repo dopo l'upgrade non ti serviranno. Gutsy ha programmi aggiornati come quelli dei repo, forse di più. Cmq alcuni repo ancora non esistono per gutsy, allora ti conviene aspettare la versione stabile e aggiornare a quella.

ho fatto come avete detto... ma mi è sparito gnome.. ora sono su kde ma non riesco ne a installare ubuntu desktop ne gnome... ogni volta che cerco mi dice il nome del pacchetto e poi ma non sta per essere installato
