[Ati] Driver Radeon (Mobility 9700)

ho provato a fare l'aggiornamento a Gutsy, ma all'avvio mi si blocca in schermata nera !!! credo che il problema sia la scheda video.
Con la 7.04 ero riuscito a far funzionare il 3D con il seguente xorg.conf:

Stessa scheda video :P stesso problema...premetto che non ho ancora risolto, cmq posso dirti che

• per un sistema usabile ti conviene usare il driver VESA, va solo a 1024x768,ma almeno funziona; con il driver readeon o fglrx è lentissimo
• prova a rinominare l'xorg.conf, ho notato che c'è uno script che riconfigura al volo X quando non viene rilevato xorg.conf e su alcuni forum ho letto che così funziona meglio :P (ho provato, ma mi mette il driver radeon che è lentissimo )
• puoi provare anche così "dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg" (controlla la sintassi), così ti "aggiusta" l'xorg che hai già: col mio l'ho dovuto fare perché dopo aver aggiornato a Gutsy era diverso l'indirizzo della scheda sul bus pci e non si avviava X

fai un sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg e scegli ati come driver

In teoria non dovresti avere problemi (ho la stessa scheda sul portatile)

si ma non sono 3D giusto?? niente compiz ????

Certo che sono 3D anche se non performanti come fglrx..xò puoi usare compiz con AIGLX senza XGL se usi il driver "ati" :-P

scrivere ati o radeon nello xorg.conf è indifferente, prova a togliere
