Non riesco ad installare la dockbar GnomeAvantWindowNavigator

Per il problema con java non ti posso essere d'aiuto, ma se vuoi installare avant window navigator e le sue applets puoi prenderle dal link nella mia firma sotto: sono paccheti .deb aggiornati (bzr), si installano facilmente e si rimuovono da synaptic altrettanto bene... E se vuoi provare c'è anche avant nella nuova versione "curves" (chiaro, o si installa awn o awn-curves), che mette le icone su un tavolo tondo. Vedi tu, se riesci a risolvere con java, naturalmente (e lo spero per te )

EDIT: Ma java non si installa col pacchetto "ubuntu-restricted-extras"?  :-\

Credo di aver risolto il problema Java (uffff)
Prima di passare a installare i tuoi pacchetti volevo sapere:
ho un portatile Acer aspire 5600 con grafica ATI mob. radeon x300, posso installare AWN?
o no?

Tutto sta nel vedere se usi un' architettura a 32 bit o a 64. I pacchetti vanno bene per la 32 bit: se hai installato quella versione allora funzionano, altrimenti devi cercare i repository per la 64 (se ti serve ti aiuto a cercarli )

Come non detto, vedo in giro che i repository sono gli stessi per l'una e per l'altra

Ora pare che ce l'ho fatta!

O meglio, ho installato tutti i pacchetti .deb e ora trovo l'icona di lancio nel menu Applicazioni.

Ma clickando su di essa non succede niente.
Si vede lampeggiare per un istante una piccola finestra vicino l'icona di lancio e poi niente.
In basso non appare nessun dock!!!
Dock-avolo è andato a finire????

Non dovrebbe essere così, vero?

se no puoi installare il ccsm il compizconfig-settingmanager da synaptic cosi dopo quando tu vai in
