Compiz e decorazione finestre

Dopo varie peripezie sono riuscito a rendere funzionante Compiz.
Il problema è che Compiz va solo se disattivo la "decorazione finestre" altrimenti trova l'errore

, ma con la decorazione disabilitata le finestre sono in alto al desktop e non c'è possibilità di spostarle, ne ci sono i tasti di ridimensionamento e di chiusura.

Allora ho installato emerald, ma non riesco a far capire a compiz di usare emerald come decoratore...

Senza ulteriori errori, gli effetti funzionano ma le finestre sono senza barre come prima

Hai l'applicazione compiz fusion icon?
Eventualmente caricala e modifica il decoratore dall'icona e vedi se ricompaiono le barre...

Mi spieghi un pò meglio questa cosa? come la carico? come modifico il decoratore dell'icona? (io uso kubuntu)

Anch'io ho kubuntu.
Se vai in kmenu, sistema dovresti avere anche questa applicazione per passare da un windows manager ed un decoratore manager all'altro.
Se ci clicchi ti si carica nel pannello principale (ha un cubo azzurro come iconcina).
E' molto comodo in quanto da lì puoi attivare o disattivare compiz, passare da emerald a gtk o kde decorator....invece che farlo tramite konsole.
Il discorso è che compiz è taaaaanto pesante e se devi far andare qualche applicazione che richiede velocità è meglio che disattivi compiz...l'ho provato sulla mia pelle. Ad esempio se hai applicazioni video, oppure semplicemente guardare un dvd video, compiz dà spesso problemi, con compiz fusion icon lo attivi solo quando vuoi....divertirti un pò

Ho installato il compiz fusion icon e lui funziona.

Purtroppo quando attivo compiz il solito problema si ripresenta uguale.

Io ho un dubbio, ovvero emerald io non lo riesco mai a far funzionare.
Anche se non attivo compiz non capisco: avvio emerald, mi esce una schermata nella quale posso scegliere il tema, ma poi non c'è un "applice", non posso cliccare niente, e le finestre non cambiano mai, che sia un problema di emerald?

Le barre riappaiono?
Eventualmente reinstalla emerald

Allora, quale che sia il decoratore con compiz in funzione le barre non si vedono mai.

Inoltre anche senza compiz non riesco a cambiare le decorazioni con emerald

Una domanda banale...hai riavviato qualche volta la modalità grafica?
Spesso modificando windows manager e decoratore si incasina la grafica che torna a posto una volta riavviato.
