[Video] Non cambia la risoluzione

Ciao ragazzi, ho appena installato Ubuntu 7.10
Solo che vorrei cambiare la risoluzione e ho provato dal menù ma funziona solo per quando sono loggato.
Dopo l'avvio alla schermata di loin però è ancora sbagliata. Poi quando entro si sistema ma resta sbaliata Nella schermata di login
Come posso fare per cambiarla anche lì?

Probabilmente hai dei settaggi sbagliati del server x, che scheda video hai e che risoluzione vorresti?

Posta il contenuto del file /etc/X11/xorg.conf che vediamo se è lì l'errore

Ciao, scusate il ritardo, ho avuto dei problemi di connettività in questi giorni, ma finalmente sono online..

Allora, ho installato su vmware perchè non ho purtroppo un pc su cui fare le prove..

Ho notato che adesso dopo un pò di riavvii, anche la shermata di log-in è a 1024x768 come avevo impostato per il desktop, (non ho toccato niente, è cambiato da solo) ma all'avvio, la schermata nera che dà quando sta caricando è ancora fuori risoluzione.

Quello che non ho capito, perchè non ho provato su un pc fisico è:
se cambio la risoluzione dal menù, poi al riavvio anche la shermata di login cambia in base a come l'ho settata?

Salve pursuit,
Ho modificato il tuo post precedente inserendo il contenuto di xorg.conf fra i tag "code" (ho selezionato il testo interessato e fatto clic sul bottone "#" sopra le faccine). E bene fare così quando si postano i contenuti dei file o i risultati dei comandi.

mi aggiungo all'argomento.

Stesso problema.

Di default il sistema sceglie la risoluzione 1280x1024 ed il monitor risulta non centrato.

Per tutti gli utenti ho modificato manualmente la risoluzione in 1024x768, ma la schermata di login è insensibile a tali modifiche.

Si, lo sto usando si VMware 6, ma gli altri sistemi operativi non fanno così, neanche opensuse

Praticamente ho lo stesso problema di Giovannix; lui in modo più sintetico è stato anche più efficace
