Ciao a tutti,grazie ad 1 scambio di favori e di hardware sono riuscito ad avere 1 nvidia geforce 5200 fx 128 mb,ero molto contento all inizio avrei potuto sostituire la mia vecchia geforce 4 mx 4000 co qualcosa di meno obsoleto,ho montato la 5200 formattato x essere sicuro che la scheda venisse rilevata nel migliore dei modi,al primo riavvio mi chiedeva già i driver con restrizioni,al chè mi sono chiesto l open gl 1.4 che la suddetta scheda dovrebbe supportare?????
Non mi sono perso d animo installo i driver proprietari riavvio,risoluzione 1024 x 768,il mio monitor è 1 hp w2207 con risoluzione 1680x1050,scarico envy installo i driver 169.09 riavvio massima risoluzione 1600x1000,noto anche dei rallentamenti che con la mia geforce 4 nn avevo,provo allora ad andare nel menù "schermi e grafica" dove imposto 1 monitor qualuncque lcd con risoluzione 1680x1050 così come facevo cn la vecchia scheda appòico la risoluzione,e magicamente il desk diventa talmente grande che per passare dal menù applicazioni al pulsante x lo spegnimento devo scrollare il desk,mi restano poche soluzioni a questo punto.
1 sperare che qualcuno paziente mi dia 1 mano a risolvere il problema se possibile o almeno che mi aiuti a capire il xchè di questo casino
2 rimettere la kia vecchia mx 4000
3 sperare nel cambio della scheda video dal rivenditore e in quel caso vorrei 1 consiglio x 1 modello che nn mi faccia penare.

Mmm.. ho la stessa scheda da anni, con semplicemente installati i driver pacchettizzati (nvidia-glx-new) e non ho mai avuto problemi..
In effetti però non uso risoluzioni oltre il 1280x1024, non so prova a postare il tuo /etc/X11/xorg.conf che magari così qualcuno capisce dov'è il problema

Allora ho riconfigurato xorg con parametri direi standard nn so bene cosa andare a modificare ti riposto il mio xorg magari è cambiato qualcosa a me sembra uguale.

Cioè con queste impostazioni non riesci ad usare il 1680x1050? Nel file mi pare configurata correttamente questa risoluzione, dovrebbe permetterti di settarla. Se non è così che errore ti dà?

Allora dopo 1 riavvio,mi ha dato 1 errore nel caricamento del demone di gnome e nn caricava correttamente le icone i temi,adesso ho riavviato nuovamente e,se vado ad impostare 1680x1050 stesso problema 1 desk immenso nessun errore apparente
