all'avvio del computer sullo schermo appare una scirtta che mi inofrma out range frequenccy
che devo fare per risolvere tale problema?
ho appena installato ubuntu 7.10 e sono nuo0vo di tale sistema

I driver della scheda video dovrebbe essere installati corretamente, perchè hai l'accelerazione grafica...

sono andato sul topic che mi hai consigliato e ho avviato xvidtune ma non saprei cosa cambiare , non voglio rischaire di rovinare lo schermo,
cmq ho notato che nella scleta dei monitor in "screens and graphic" non esiste il mio modello può essere questa la causa quindi del messaggio iniziale?
si può risolvere in qualche modo?
altrimenti dovrò purtroppo con grande rammarico tornare a suse 10.3, solo che mi paiceva questa distribuzione

Se si posta il contenuto del file /etc/X11/xorg.conf, sia della SUSE che di Ubuntu... :P Anche se della susa non lo hai posta ugualmente quello di Ubuntu...
O forse il problema è della frequenza di refresh... Che schermo hai?

Il problema mi sa che è il formato dello schermo 16:10...
Io non mi sono mai occupato di questi schermi...

Dando quel comando, parte una configurazione guidata, ti fa le domande, settale per le specifiche del tuo monitor...
Prima di dare il comando copialo per backup così se dopo fai dei casini, puoi rimettere tutto apposto:

ecco il contenuto del file etc/x11/xorg.con per quanto riguarda la distribuzione suse in cui non si presenta il problema di segnalazione di " analog out of range 46,3khz -87 Hz" al contrasio di quanto accade con ubuntu.il file etc/x11/xorg.conf lo trovate predentemente postato

Solo per fare una prova, da Ubuntu, mi copierei proprio tutto il file della suse, e proverei a riavviare...
Quello ubuntu attuale, prima copialo per backup anche da un'altra parte....

inanzitutto mi scuso se vi sto facendo perdere tempo e vi ringrazio della pazienza,
purtropo si ripresenta lo stesso problema
ho sostituito il file xorg.conf di ubuntu con quello di suse ma ricompare il messaggio iniziale
premetto che lo schermo funziona e si vede bene ma non capisco la segnalazione di errore anor prima che il sistema si avvii
io vorrei continuare a usare ubuntu perchè il sistema è migliore e l'assistenza del forum è migliore, ma non so come risolvere questo problema
