ho provato ad aggiornare sia da desktop, sia da terminale, molte volte l'archivio: ogni volta mi scarica un po' di roba, da l'impressione di funzionare, ma all'avvio successivo la storia si ripresenta.

Non avendo mai avuto problemi con il sources.list non so di preciso come aiutarti, però al primo impatto mi sembra che forse hai commentato un pò troppo (magari poi non c'entra nulla), ti posto l'originale della mia Breezy prova a modificare il tuo in tal senso:
