ciao a tutti,
ho un portatile hp dv6022 ea (bios phoenix con pochissime funzionalità configurabili), serie credo maledetta per ubuntu. ho installato la 7.10 e modificato la linea del kernel per far partire il sistema e far funzionare tutto, usb comprese, in questo modo:

Kernel command line: root=UUID=cff3743c-06ac-4107-899e-91ee0909cbea ro irqfixup quiet splash noapic nolapic locale=it_IT

il problema è che ora non funziona più la cpu scaling. ho provato a seguire tutte le guide che ci sono comprese ovviamente

ma non cambia niente. chiedendo le info sulla cpu questo è il risultato:

Non so che fare. credo di dover cancellare noapic nolapic dalla linea del kernel, ma poi non mi si avvierebbe il sistema. qualche suggerimento??

ciao, punto primo la wireless funziona?che modello e driver usi?
che vga monta il tuo? io ho un 6146eu, e lo scaling funziona solo con la 7.04 a 32 bit come già ti ho accennato.
riprova per curiosità a partire senza noapic ecc...lo puoi fare premendo f6 al boot e cancellandoli. (non è una cosa definitiva, ma solo per quel boot)

si, la wireless funziona con ndiswrapper e i file proprietari che ho scaricato dal sito di hp. ho una broadcom 4312, file bcmwl5.inf e .sys, che mi ha fatto penare un po'... cos'è il vga, scusa l'ignoranza?
ho installato per primo il 7.10, sono linux solo dal un mese, e credo che se passassi al 7.04 perderei i dati e tutto quello che ho settato finora, vero??
se parto senza noapic come mi hai detto, cosa può succedere, nella peggiore delle ipotesi?? e quali parametri dovrei cancellare noapic nolapic e anche irqfixup??

no, non ho provato: come posso inserirlo nella linea del kernel e, scusa anche tu l'ignoranza, che casini mi potrebbe provocare nella peggiore delle ipotesi??

così come hai insterito gli altri...

casini non dovrebbe fartene. però ti consiglio di disabilitare lo slash screen togliendo le opzioni quiet splash così vedi i messaggi che appaiono.

la vga è la scheda video.
al max non ti parte il pc se togli noapic.
io con una broadcom 4311 ho usato il driver open, non ndiswrapper...non ho idea se cambi qualcosa ma non credo.
se rinstalli il sistema in effetti si dovresti riconfigurarlo da capo.

ok, dunque, ho provato a inserire acpi=force ma non è purtroppo cambiato niente: il processore faceva sempre il cavolo che voleva lui...
poi ho provato a togliere nolapic e il sistema non si avvia: non riconosce la modalità laptop e non partiva il server X.
la mia scheda video è una nvidia go 7200, altra gatta che ho pelato grazie alla preziosa guida di Telperion qui di seguito:

hai un pc praticamente simile al mio....posso chiederti che versione di driver usi sulla 7200?
detto questo propendo molto per il kernel della 7.10 che impedisca al pc di partire senza noapic e quindi lo scaling della cpu te lo puoi scordare... :(

ah, grazie, non l'avevo visto: praticamente dovrei aggiungere nella linea del kernel acpi_osi=!Linux ??? ho capito bene?? ed è uguale dove la metto, all'inizio, alla fine, in mezzo??

se cambio e metto il kernel di hardy ho un paio di domande:
1. come faccio, dove lo trovo?
2. è stabile? perché questo è il pc con il quale lavoro...
3. cosa perderei e cosa dovrei riconfigurare di tutte le cose che ho ora installate??

spero di non abusare della vostra pazienza con domande scontate, che per me non lo sono affatto...

sulla 7200 ho montato il driver nvidia-linux-x86-169.12-pkg1.run, che ho scaricato dal sito di nvidia e l'ho installato con la guida che ho linkato sotto. ora funziona tutto perfettamente, compiz compreso, mentre prima mi freezava ogni due minuti...

scusa ma ora ti chiedo io una info, non noti frezze con questi? io non li ho provati quest'ultimi, ma con altri soppratutto con firefox ogni minuto si bloccava per pochi secondi per poi riprendere...e l'unica soluzione è usare i 9755, ma se mi dici che con questi non lo fà li provo pure io. ;)

per il tuo problema....bè aggiornare il kernel non è semplice, però non perdi dati, al max dopo dovrai rinstallare i driver nvidia e ndiswrapper... però ripeto non è semplicissimo aggiornare il kernel. ;)

no max, a me quel file funziona a meraviglia e ho compiz settato con gli effetti più spinti e non si blocca praticamente mai. praticamente... può capitare una volta ma mai come prima, quando avevo la stessa situazione che descrivi tu, con blocchi ogni dieci secondi, schermo grigio, mal di pancia specie su firefox... non posso che suggerirti di provarli...

prova togliendo irqfixup, e lascia solo noapic acpi=force (non ti attiva lo scaling cpu però dovrebbe esser la soluzione migliore in attesa di un nuovo kernel...) ;)
ovviamente hai modificato il grub in maniera da renderli definitivi e non doverli scrivere ad ogni boot?

ciao a tutti!
ho seguito l'ultimo consiglio di max, ma senza irqfixup (che però a volte, solo a volte, non mi fa riconoscere l'hda, il dvd player) le prese usb che non sono impegnate dal boot rimangono disattivate (non posso usare usb stick e stampante se non collegate dal boot...). per il resto mi pare rimanga tutto uguale, e il processore ha la frequenza sempre fissa al 100%!

nessuno ha un'idea, suggerimenti?!?

cè poco da suggerire purtroppo, o provi un kernel diverso, oppure ti metti la 7.04 a 32 bit... ;)
se togli pure nolapic è meglio, però non ti parte lostesso lo scaling della cpu.  :-\

Incredibile ma vero, grazie alla guida di CROCCOBISCOTTO ce l'ho fatta!! Si trattava di un errore del file dsdt, questo:

Ho semplicemente seguito per filo e per segno quello che sta scritto sulla guida (e fatto un paio di domande stupide per capire come fare) et voilà. Ora funziona tutto: cpu scaling, usb, server x, dvd reader. In più ho tolto dalla riga del kernel tutto quello di posticcio che c'era. noapic, nolapic e irqfixup. Ho tolto anche quiet così ora mi godo lo splash con tutti quegli OK... Ora va perfettamente, almeno fino a che non combinerò il prossimo casino.
