in un qualche contesto si potrebbe dire di piu'..cosi' sembra che non ci sia nessuna interfaccia abilitata..puo' voler dire molte cose, in primis che non ci sono i driver

dannazione(..) ho riprovato da capo a ricompilare i compat-wireless ma non funzionano, la scheda non è più riconosciuta...
quell'errore viene fuori se faccio

prima devi caricare i driver

sudo modprobe b43
pi dopo al limite vedi se esce l'interfaccia..io non ho mica visto la compilazione. Tu sei sicuro di averli installati questi driver?..e il firmware dei b43 lo hai messo in /lib/firmware?

Senti, anch'io ho i b43 e mi era stato detto che erano nel kernel e quant'altro, ma poi spulciando nel web l'unica soluzione ottimale, anche in termini di prestazioni, che ho trovato è quello della guida per ndiswrapper (va bene anche per gusty, devi solo saltare il passaggio degli ssb e mettere in blacklist bmc43xx), anche perchè in meno di 10 minuti funziona tutto e alla perfezione.

infatti sono li, ma in alcuni casi si tratta di una versione incompatibile con certe schede..per questo bisogna tentare con i b43 piu' recenti che, appunto, si trovano nei compat wireless

Probabilmente hai ragione tu, ma ti assicuro che sulla 7.10 anche con i compat wireless non ero riuscito e quando ho reinstallato la 8.04 ho rifatto la configurazione con ndiswrapper che sapevo funzionante.

i driver venivano caricati con uno script (make load) durante l'installazione, e ho visto che nello script c'è il comando modprobe che carica il modulo, poi l'ho anche rifatto ma su ifconfig la scheda wireless non appare nemmeno...

Eppure ho controllato e la mia scheda è supportata da quei driver...

puoi postare il dmesg dopo aver caricato in manuale i b43? ho bisogno sia di quello..che del caricamento in manuale

aspetto fino a quando non posti entrambi altrimenti come faccio io da qua a capire dove sta il problema? (sfere di cristallo a parte)

Nella directory /lib/firmware c'e' un "b43"..siamo sicuri che sia il firmware?..perche' a me sembra un folder..e probabilmente li dentro c'e' il firmware...il firmware deve stare in /lib/firmware e non in /lib/firmware/b43

si esatto..ma ora questa interfaccia c'e'?..bisogna essere un po' veloci, scusa se te lo dico..i comandi sono sempre quelli..dmesg per l'output, modprobe per caricare il modulo, iwconfig per vedere se c'e' l'interfaccia..altrimenti questo topic finisce per diventare un romanzo..

ce li avevo già copiati anche prima di ricaricare il modulo, poi su ifconfig non è mai apparsa eth1...
In /firmware c'e ancora bcm43xx_microcode11.fw, devo forse eliminarlo?

a quanto dice il dmesg (per sicurezza cposta anche lspci) hai un chip broadcom 4311, che secondo il link ufficiale dovrebbe essere supportato:

poi viene caricato anche il legacy-driver, che invece e' per modelli piu' vecchi della tua pci-express.
Vediamo se funziona cosi': cancella il firmware della bcm43xx e metti in blacklist i drivers:

..nel file /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist

Errori di output non ce ne sono, la scheda e' supportata, il firmware e' quello giusto e viene caricato, i driver si caricano normalmente...ora sono curioso di sapere cosa ca**..hemm.."diavolo" sta succedendo...

da' sempre errore? l'interfaccia siamo sicuri che sia eth1? (in teoria si ma sai..)
Prova a postare anche il file /etc/network/interfaces

inutile anche mettere b43 in /etc/moudules affinche' venga caricato all'avvio..perche' gia' si carica per i fatti suoi.
Quel device mi ricorda qualcosa..cell'ha un mio amico su dell ma alla fine siamo riusciti a farlo aprtire..l'interfaccia era wlan0 comunque..non credo abbia molta importanza...se i driver stanno funzionando l'interfaccia "viene su" da sola

Facciamo cosi'..prova con ndiswrapper e i driver per win..stavolta pero' se non si vede nessuna interfaccia posso cominciare a pensare che la mini-pci non funziona per problemi "tecnici"

Se hai la 4311 non c'è niente da fare devi usare ndiswrapper come da guida da te citata. Anch'io ho la tua stessa scheda wireless. Se vuoi provare con ndiswrapper fammi sapere.
