Hard Disk portatile non funziona!
Ubuntu 8.04 non mi legge l hard disk portatile, Quando viene il messaggio di errrore ne compare un altro che dice apertura di western digital ma poi non succede niente e se ne chiudo uno si chiudono tutti e 2

Ci sono diversi I/O error. Probabilmente il file system è corrotto. Prova a dare il comando fsck /dev/sdb1 quando il disco è SMONTATO, ipotizzando che il disco esterno sia sdb e che ci sia su una sola partizione (altrimenti metti i parametri corretti).

Nella guida che bancaldo ha postato c'è una lista di GUID per ogni coppia sistema operativo + tipo di partizione. Puoi provare a modificare a mano il file fstab inserendo una riga per l'hard disk esterno con il GUID adatto al tuo caso e poi prova a riavviare.

Qui trovi una guida abbastanza utile con tutto ciò che ti serve. Per aprire fstab e poterlo modificare devi essere root, quindi usa il comando sudo gedit /etc/fstab. Non so come hai formattato il disco, quindi potrebbe essere quella o anche la data partition. Ma il disco è stato acquistato così o l'hai formattato tu? Eventualmente, come ULTIMA soluzione, puoi salvare i dati e formattarlo da win.
