intanto vai più camo con gli up, che non sono permessi, e 3 ore mi sembra assai pochino!
Se avessi provato a cercare sul forum "installare da tar.gz" il primo risultato ti avrebbe condotto alla soluzione!
é un pacchetto di codici sorgenti, quindi il programma va compilato prima di poterlo usare. AmministrazioneSistema/InstallareProgrammi/DaSorgenti

se c'è in synaptic è meglio usare synaptic. non c'è l'ultimissima versione, ma comunque una abbastanza recente.
Se invece sei proprio sicuro che non puoi fare a meno del'ultima versione nonostante tutti i problemi della compilazione manuale, allora continua... per dare quel comando devi essere sicuro di essere nella dir giusta e che il nome del pacchetto sia proprio quello

Quello che c'è in synaptic è quello che ho già installato mentre quello che ho scaricato è il continuo ossia il 2.....mirtillo ha scritto: lo trovi anche su synaptic, il pacchetto è blobwars.

Questo errore mi blocca e nn riesco ad andare avanti!
seguendo le istruzioni ho prima scompattato il file con questo comando
e ho ottenuto una cartella con il nome blobAndConquer-1.0 nella mia home mentre da terminale mi dava questo
dopo di che sono entrato nella cartella appena creata con questo comando
e fin qui nessun problema...
successivamente nella guida c'era scritto questo
Il sistema attualmente più usato per compilare e installare si basa sul programma make, il quale si aspetta di trovare nella cartella radice dell'albero (e opzionalmente nelle sottocartelle) le istruzioni sulla procedura di compilazione. Queste istruzioni variano in base alla configurazione scelta e ad altri parametri come la disponibilità di librerie opzionali nel sistema. Il metodo attualmente più usato per ottenere queste informazioni fa ricorso ad uno script bash chiamato configure presente nella cartella radice dell'albero dei sorgenti. Le varie opzioni disponibili in fase di configurazione sono descritte nel file README (o INSTALL) e vanno passate, sotto forma di opzioni, allo script sopra citato.
Il primo comando da digitare è quindi configure seguito dalle eventuali opzioni, come nel seguente esempio:
./configure --prefix=/usr
ho digitato il comando che ho inserito prima ossia (./configure --prefix=/usr)
ottenendo l'errore che ho detto...

Il sistema attualmente più usato per compilare e installare si basa sul programma make, il quale si aspetta di trovare nella cartella radice dell'albero (e opzionalmente nelle sottocartelle) le istruzioni sulla procedura di compilazione. Queste istruzioni variano in base alla configurazione scelta e ad altri parametri come la disponibilità di librerie opzionali nel sistema. Il metodo attualmente più usato per ottenere queste informazioni fa ricorso ad uno script bash chiamato configure presente nella cartella radice dell'albero dei sorgenti. Le varie opzioni disponibili in fase di configurazione sono descritte nel file README (o INSTALL) e vanno passate, sotto forma di opzioni, allo script sopra citato.
Il primo comando da digitare è quindi configure seguito dalle eventuali opzioni, come nel seguente esempio:
./configure --prefix=/usr
ho digitato il comando che ho inserito prima ossia (./configure --prefix=/usr)
ottenendo l'errore che ho detto...

allora, uno ha necessità di essere root solo per scrivere in cartelle dove non si ha il permesso da utente normale.
Le operazioni "./configure" e "make" scrivono, modificano e creano file all'interno della cartella del codice sorgente. se questa cartella sta in un posto dove il tuo utente può scrivere, allora non c'è bisogno di eseguire queste opzioni da root. diverso è il discorso per "make install" perchè va a spostare file dalla cartella del sorgente alle cartelle di sistema, dove solo l'amministratore può scrivere.
Ovviamente il discorso sopra vale se la cartella col sorgente sta nella tua home o in un altro posto dove puoi scrivere. La cartela designata per contenere i sorgenti però sarebbe /usr/src e se metti i orgenti li poi dovrai agire da root per tutti i passaggi

nn è questo il problema... il mio problema è k configure nn mi trova nulla....
in pratica faccio tutto quello che devo fare e a un certo punto nella guida c'è scritto di entrare nella cartella appena scompattata e io entro da terminale...

Odio ripetermi. Quella che hai riportato è una procedura generica, ma molti programmi si discostano un po' da questa.Tra questi programmi c'è quello che stai provando a compilare.mous16 ha scritto: generalmente è vero che per compilare la procedura è quella, ma alcuni programmi hanno delle sfumature.

Sostanzialmente questo non ha bisogno dello script di configurazione e passa automaticamente alla compilazione

ti mancano un po' di dipendenze. è normale quando si compila.
per risolvere questo problema basta installare i pacchetti giusti. per esempio in una delle prime righe ti dice che non trova SDL/SDL.h, e grazie a questo sito, trovi che quel file è incluso in libsdl1.2-dev. quindi installi quel pacchetto con e poi ritenti la compilazione, e vedi se mancano altri pacchetti o se va a buon fine
