Problema nell'istallazione di MPICH

Ciao a tutti,
sto cercando di installare il sw MPICH versione 1.2.7, seguendo la procedura indicata nel seguente tutorial:

PROBLEMA: quando arrivo ad eseguire l'istruzione

./configure

la mia macchina mi da il seguente reply:

dopodiché, come si legge nella guida del link di cui sopra, dovrei eseguire il comando

make

ma la risposta è la seguente:

[glow=red,2,300]make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found.  Stop.[/glow]

Ovviamente il Makefile.in è presente nella cartella, quindi dovrebbe andare!
QUAL E' il problema? Help!

non va perché il configure è fallito. Non vedi gli errori?

Comunque mpich è nei repository.

Che non va per via degli errori l'avevo capito... 
volevo sapere se qualcuno sapeva come porre rimedio a quegli errori
