Errore Scansione disco: Upgrade Xubunti da 8.04 a 8.10 tramite apt-cdrom

Salve a tutti,
sto cercando di aggiornare la dist da 8.04 a 810 tramite un file iso di xubuntu alterate montato.
Vi dò l'output.

~$ sudo mount /media/VOLUME/xubuntu-8.10-alternate-i386.iso /cdrom -t iso9660 -o loop
~$ sudo apt-cdrom -m add
Si userà il mount point del CD-ROM /cdrom/

A me pare che mancano le estensioni, tipo "restricted/binary-i386/Packages" manca il ".gz" però non ne sono certo e cmq non saprei dove andrebbe cambiato.
Qualche consiglio???
