Nvidia risoluzione dello schermo dopo avanzamento versione

Salve a tutti,
uso ubutu da quando la versione era la 7.04.
Ho una scheda video nvidia. Ha sempre funzionato correttamente anche se aveva i driver con restrizione.
Oggi ho fatto l'avanzamento di versione e purtroppo non mi da la possibilità di settare lo schermo a 1028X724 ma al massimo 800X600.
Per favore un rapido aiuto, così non posso lavorare.

Nel gestore periferiche c'è scritto:

nVidia Corporation DISPOSITIVO nForce2 AGP

dovrebbe essere questa la scheta grafica (purtroppo è integrata e non leggo sull Hardware).

Io ho fatto l'avanzamento di versione, quando l'ho fatto mi avvisava che avrei avuto problemi sull'acceleratore grafico e alcuni giochi non avrebbero funzionato.

ma come stabilisco con precisione qual'è il mio dispositivo?
a me poi dei giochi interessa relativamente per me è essenziale riportare la risoluzione a 1028X724.

questa riga indica la tua schda video..
ora ho letto la lista delle schede nvidia con problemi dopo l'aggiornamento dell xorg e ho visto che ci sono varie geforce4 mx,
sinceramente però, non avendo mai dovuto affrontare il problema e dato che i vari modelli presenti sono simili, ma non uguali alla tua, non so se ci rientra...

puoi dare un occhiata,
ti consiglio però di modificare il titolo del primo post e mettere nvidia, poi chiedere ad un mod se é il caso di spostare il ttuo post in hardware.

Sicuramente ottiene piu visibilità e qualcuno col tuo problema può aiutarti..

ps:
se decidi di seguire la pagina linkata scriviti i comandi in caso che evi inserirli da terminale e non sai farlo..
