Problema con gestore aggiornamenti

Ciao a tutto il forum,
è la prima volta che scrivo in quanto è da poco che mi sono avvicinato al mondo Linux e nello specifico ad Ubuntu (scusate il ritardo! cit. Valentino)
Premetto che fino ad oggi funzionava tutto alla perfezione (ho installato Ubuntu 8.10) fino a quando mi si è presentato questo messaggio di errore quando tento di aggiornare il sistema:

Impossibile inizializzare le informazioni del pacchetto

Si è verificato un problema irrisolvibile durante l'inizializzazione delle informazioni del pacchetto.

Segnalare questo bug per il pacchetto «update-manager» e includere il seguente messaggio d'errore:

'E:La linea 69 in /etc/apt/sources.list (dist parse) non è corretta, E:La lista dei sorgenti non può essere letta.'

qualcuno può gentilmente aiutarmi? Grazie (b2b)

Esegui nel terminale

cat /etc/apt/sources.list

e posta il risultato inserendolo come codice (cliccando il bottone # sopra le faccine).
Sarà da correggere la linea 69, come suggerito dal messaggio di errore.

Inoltre, dato che non sei esperto (lo siamo tutti all'inizio) ti consiglio di disabilitare tutti i "proposed" (Sistema-->Amministrazione-->Sorgenti software, nella terza scheda 'Aggiornamenti' togli la spunta a 'aggiornamenti proposti') che riguardano pacchetti ancora in fase di testing e potrebbero crearti problemi in futuro.

P.S. dimenticavo... per correggere la riga nel source list, esegui nel terminale
