consumo eccessivo ram

esattamente..configurata allo stesso modo..con i driver fglrx attivati..e funziona al 100% anche con tanti programmi aperti

devi aprire un bug su launchpad, comunque visto che ci stai, reinstalla la 64bit e vedi se si presenta di nuovo il problema, se sìapri il bug.

ok..per no perdere tutte le impostazioni..se io copio la cartella home (di tt e 2 gli utenti) su un altra partiazione..poi reinstallo e sovrascrivo la home con quella che mi sono copiato mi ritrovo tutte le impostazioni a posto?

sì, l'importante è che coincidano i nomi degli utenti.
Ovviamente in fase di installazione devi indicare qual è la partizione home, quindi devi scegliere partizionamento manuale.

va bene lo stesso, ma ti consiglio di fare un backup di tutto in un file tar, perché la semplice copia può farti problemi con alcuni nomi di file lunghi.

ciao..scusa se non mi sono fatto sentire ma in questi giorni sono stato molto impegnato. Comunque non ho fatto in tempo a reinstallare la 64, ho rimesso direttamente la 32 e funziona tutto perfetto
