fdisk: invalid option -- '1'
Uso: fdisk [-b SSZ] [-u] DISCO Modifica la tabella delle partizioni
fdisk -l [-b SSZ] [-u] DISCO Elenca la tabella delle partizioni
fdisk -s PARTIZIONE Mostra la dimensione della partizione
in blocchi
fdisk -v Mostra la versione di fdisk
In questo caso DISCO è qualcosa come /dev/hdb o /dev/sda
e PARTIZIONE è qualcosa come /dev/hda7
-u: indica Inizio e Fine in numero di settori (invece che in cilindri)
-b 2048: (per alcune unità MO) usa settori a 2048 byte

era una elle (l) non un 1
allora il sistema ti vede 3 supporti:
sda, sdb, sdc.
sda è il disco dove è installato ubuntu, sitratta di vedere qale dei restanti è il secondo disco

Improvvisamente il 2 harddisk è apparso anche in risorse, mistero della fede... Però mi è successo altre volte che penne usb e aimé anche hard disk esterni a un certo punto non vengano più riconosciuti e che addirittura non siano più utilizzabili neanche da windows... quindi dopo che ubuntu li ha usati un po' in pratica diventano inutilizzabili. Cercando nelle guide non mi sono orientato un granché, sapete qualcosa al riguardo?

ho seguito le indicazioni in guida per l'installazione della webcam e alla fine ho cercato di provarla con media player dando questo comando (con camorama e cheese non va):
mplayer tv:// -tv driver=v4l2:width=640:height=480:fps=25:device=/dev/video0 -vo x11

in pratica non riesco a sbloccare il device in nessun modo, la differenza con la volta precedente che ho installato ubuntu 8.10 su questo vaio fe41m è che adesso mi ha preso la presa del microfono, ma non penso che sia questo che disturba la webcam...

il tuo lsusb dice che la webcam è una ricoh i driver sono nei repo anche se dipende dalla versione del kernel.
da terminale:
e ti dice la versione
poi prova con

ho supposto che la tua versione del kernel sia 2.6.24-21-generic
se non sono presenti i driver per la tua versione bisogna cercare i sorgenti in rete, con camorama non funzionano, almeno a me non funzionano, però con skype e amsn va che è una bomba

Ho fatto parecchi tentativi e alla fine, in driver hardware mi è apparso un driver nuovo denominato "Driver for Ricoh R5U870-based webcam" dice verificato dagli sviluppatori di ubuntu. La web ancora non funziona però...
