[Video] Video sgranati con scheda video intel gma x3100

Ciao a tutti

ho da poco acquistato un nuovo portatile HP abbastanza sfigato, ma più che sufficiente per quello che devo farci (credevo). Il problema è che quando provo a vedere i video (sia dvd che divx) li visualizzo bene con la schermata di vlc piccola e molto sgranati (e anche i colori non sono buoni) se metto la modalità schermo intero. Questo succede anche nella partizione dedicata a Win. Da quello che ho capito il problema dovrebbe essere legato alla scheda video, il cui modello è "Mobile Intel GMA X3100". Voi sapete come potrei risolvere? Aggiungo che non ho alcuna esperienze riguardo all'installazione dei driver su Ubuntu.  ;D

ma succede solo con vlc? con totem che succede?

poi non ho capito, anche Windows ti dà lo stesso problema?

succede sia con vlc che con totem, e succede anche su Win...

bah... sembra un problema della scheda allora.

Vai nel bios e controlla che sia assegnata la ram alla scheda video.

dunque...sono entrato nel bios ma non sono riuscito a capire come è assegnata la ram rispetto alla scheda video. Gli unici dati che potrebbero avere qualcosa a che vedere con questo sono questi:

no, non c'entra, controlla bene se c'è qualche opzione tipo video ram o simile.

purtroppo non c'è niente di questo tipo, ho controllato tutte le opzioni. Non so se possa essere utile (forse è solo un valore nominale) ma su Win mi segnala la scheda video come Mobile Intel GMA X3100 (448 MB).

ho provato anche (forse erroneamente...) a riconfigurare xorg, ma il programma mi fatto domande solo riguardanti la tastiera. Ora però xorg.conf recita così:

Inoltre ho notato un altro "sintomo": quando apro una nuova finestra (per esempio dal menu "Places") e quando la richiudo capita che i bordi sfarfallino abbastanza chiaramente.

ti ho fatto questa domanda perchè ho visto questa riga nel log:

e ho pensato che avessi modificato lo xorg.conf.

Hai provato a disattivare gli effetti grafici?

poi una domanda: quanto è grande, di suo, il video? perché è chiaro che se parliamo di un video 320x240 allora allargandolo per forza viene sgranato...

Il video è 15.4'', la risoluzione impostata è 1280x800.

Ho provato a disattivare gli effetti grafici settandoli prima su "normal" e poi su "none" ma la visione rimane uguale. Inoltre le foto, anche a schermo intero, si vedono bene. Solo i video danno problemi. Ah...anche Supertux non va: parte ma si vede malissimo, non si distingue quasi niente.

ah scusa, non avevo capito ;D

comunque il film è adatto alla visione a schermo intero, sto usando dei dvd originali per le verifiche in modo da non avere dubbi sui file

anche i divx li vedo sgranati, anche file che in un altro computer si vedono molto bene.
