[Risolto] problema con driver nvidia su 9.04

sto aspettando un aiuto dal cielo (c.realkiller, magari) affinchè riesca a matchare le versioni dell'NVIDIA kernel module e del driver component.
te, sei riuscito a killare X?

Sono gli ultimi drivers nvidia (180.51).

se non spegni x non puoi disinstallare i vecchi driver per sostituirli con quelli nuovi.

questo ti dice che hai installato i driver nuovi senza aver disinstallato i vecchi è normale che il kernel si incavola.

alla 5° volta che reinstallo, sono riuscito ad abilitarli.
ho installato il 177 da aggiungi rimuovi poi ho riavviato e dopo l'ho abilitati da hardware driver, adesso aggiorno, ma con gli aggiornamenti mi installa il 180?
comunque se vatuuto bene domani faccio il passaggio a jj e poi vi faccio sapere

ho installato il 177 da aggiungi rimuovi poi ho riavviato e dopo l'ho abilitati da hardware driver, adesso aggiorno, ma con gli aggiornamenti mi installa il 180?
comunque se vatuuto bene domani faccio il passaggio a jj e poi vi faccio sapere

sono contento per te, se dopo l'aggiornamento è tutto a posto metti risolto.

questo ti dice che hai installato i driver nuovi senza aver disinstallato i vecchi è normale che il kernel si incavola.

grazie, c.realkiller, disinstallato e reinstallato i nuovi driver. Ho solo un piccolo problemino con Compiz ora.

comunque la tua scheda adesso usa l'accellerazione 3d.

Ciao a tutti,
finalmente posso cercare anch'io di risolvere il mio problemino. Siamo rimasti che avrei dovuto reinstallare i driver. Ma se io da sinaptic deseleziono tutti i pacchetti che contengono " nvidia " selezionando l' opzione che mi toglie anche i file di configurazione, risolvo qualcosa o devo fare tutto tramite linea di comando?

felser, rimuovi tutti i pacchetti nvidia* da synaptic e poi fai come ha scritto c.realkiller:

io ho provato areinstallarli, ma niente.
ho provato a rimuoverli e cambiarli con quelli più vecchi (173) strano il 177 dice che esiste solo per il 386 ma su intrepid io ce li avevo i 177. quindi esasperato sono tornato ad intrepid e i 180 non funzionano neppure lì e non riesco più a toglierli. adeso reinstallo per l'ennesima volta e provo con i 177 dopo faccio l'avanzamento e vediamo.

solo se hai una 64bit:
tu hai una 7600 quindi dovrebbero andar bene i drivers 180.

Una volta che ti trovi in console (schermo nero e login) loggati e poi

Rispondi si a tutto e dopo

sudo /etc/init.d/gdm start


con questa procedura disinstalli  anche i linux-restricted-modules se hai quindi qualche periferica che li usava (scheda wireless o latro) dopo li reinstalli

solo qualche precisazione, i 180 non credo che siano i driver adatti alla mia "geffo fx 5500 256mb", ( ho provato ad installarli usando esattamente quella procedura, ed è uscita una finestra che mi diceva che il kernel non avrebbe tenuto conto di questi driver), quelli adatti dovrebbero essere i 173. Quale è il codice per scaricare con wget il driver giusto per la mia scheda?

Ciao a tutti,
dopo un upgrade da 8.10 a 9.04 non riuscivo a riattivare i drivers proprietari (GeForce Go 7600). Inoltre, al primo riavvio il sistema si è avviato in modalità grafica a bassa qualità.

Ho seguito questa procedura e ho risolto il problema..  (b2b)

hmmm, non so come, ma anche se compiz non trova 'sto modulo xgl, riesco ad attivare i desktop effects. Forse l'accelerazione 3d era sufficiente...

Purtroppo non sono riuscito a risolvere il problema,  :'(  e prima di perdere la testa  >:(  ho reinstallato la 8.10 con la quale andavo ( e vado!!) alla grande, anche perchè ho la " home " in una partizione separata. Probabilmente fra un pò di tempo arriverà qualche patch   che risolverà il problema. Grazie comunque a tutti, preziosi come sempre. Ciao

allora, dopo il passaggio da 8.10 a 9.04 tutto ok!
unici cambiamenti da prima schermo ora più veccio e un secondo hd formattato in ext3 che la seconda volta ho staccato
adesso il secondo hd l'ho riattaccato e tutto bene, lo schermo per ora è sempre quello vecchio, però posso dire risolto.
