[Kernel] problemi con il kernel 2.6.28.12

Ciao a tutti. Ieri ho fatto l'avanzamento di sistema da ubuntu 8.10 a ubuntu 9.04.

Funziona tutto, ad eccezione del fatto che se carico il s.o. con il kernel 2.6.27.14 mi si carica, mentre se scelgo il kernel 2.6.28.12 mi appare la schermata nera con "loading please wait" e non va piu' avanti.,

Cosa puo' essere e cosa devo fare per risolverlo?
Basta che aspetti  che siano disponibili  gli aggiornamenti del kernel?

si ha abilitato i proposed comunque il 27.14 mi suona di linux mint.....chissa'

no potrebbe anche essere intrepid, non è consigliabile abilitare i proposed, si rischia di andare incontro a problemi di instabilità!

Forse mi sono spiegato male: per kernel 2.6.28.12 intendo quello che in synaptic trovi come "linux kernel image for version 2.6.28". Questa versione del kernel l'ho scaricata di default con l'avanzamento di versione dalla 8.10 alla 9.04...

che tu abbia fatto l'avanzamento o installato da zero la 9.04 di default ha il kernel 2.6.28-11-generic questa e' una certezza
se ti ritrovi il 12 vuol dire che :
o ne hai installato (molto erroneamente un qualche file che lo riguarda synaptic) oppure hai attivi i proposed
ad ogni modo se non hai i proposed attivi hai 2 soluzioni o rimuovi da synaptic la voce relativa al 12 oppure (a mio modesto avviso)
attiva i proposed e dai da terminale
sudo -s
apt-get update
apt-get dist-upgrade
in modo da installare il nuovo kernel proposto (nuovo per ora dato che si sta lavorando gia' al 2.6.30...)
Intanto se ti va dai da terminale
cat /boot/grub/menu.lst che ci do un'occhiata
e gia' che ci sei dimmi anche l'output di
uname -r

1. effettivamenti, su "archivi dei  pacchetti" di synaptic avevo attivato gli aggiornamenti proposti (jaunty-proposed);
2. digitando da terminale "cat/boot/grub/menu.lst" mi appare:" nessun file o dyrectory";
3. l'output di uname -r è "2.6.27.14 generic".

Cosa mi suggerisci di fare?

postami l'output esatto e anche l'output della cartella boot elleesse spazio slashboot

C'e' una voce che da qualche sospetto....inoltre dall'errore e' come se non riuscisse a caricare vmcore.. Comunque da una live dai
sudo -s
grub  aspetta un po e poi
find /boot/grub/stage1 dovrebbe uscirti hd0,1 quindi
root (hd0,1)
setup (hd0)

Cosa puo' essere e cosa devo fare per risolverlo?

Per leggere l'errore devi eliminare lo splashscreen..semplicemente premendo ALT+F1. Da li si puo' capire cosa potrebbe essere necessario per risolvere (prima di fare qualsiasi cosa ti consiglio di verificare..altrimenti vai alla cieca)
