ciao,
ho comprato la chiavetta usb citata nell'oggetto,
ma non da segno di vita.
Mi è balenata l'idea di formattarla,
ma gparted non me la vede...
consigli?

Se è quella con la spina estraibile è come la mia, ma a me l'ha vista al primo colpo, però l'ho subito piallata proprio con gparted per mettere su ext3.

buona idea,
ma per l'appunto gparted non me la vede...
ora sto provando con gnome-format [http://live.gnome.org/gnome-format]
ma il tar.bz2 è str0nz0 e non si fa installare...
suggerimenti?
(avendo necessita' di connettività anche con win la piallerò in fat32 cmq)

Strano che non la veda.

Dopo averla connessa controlla con nautilus nella directory media.

perdonami la banalità della domanda:
in gparted hai usato il menù a tendina in alto a destra dove c'è scritto /dev/sda ?
proprio ieri ne ho comprata una (in offerta da mediaworld), subito riconosciuta e formattata  ;D

ciao,
per quanto riguarda gparted...si ho controllato il menu a tendina, e stata la prima cosa che ho visto ma mi vede solo l'hard disk e nient altro...
ho comprato la penna usb una settimana fa e al primo colpo il computer l'ha trovata e l'ho subito usata, fino a ieri dove ho caricato gli ultimi file...dopodichè... nulla...è come se la pennina non esistesse e il computer non la rileva. Ho provato a visulizzarla anche dal terminale ma non c'e nulla da fare...la chiavetta e andata...ed ha solo qualche giorno di vita!!!!

altra domanda banale:
non è che, per caso, l'hai utilizzata su un computer con windows e l'hai estratta senza fare la rimozione sicura dell' hardware?

P.S: comunque la pennetta ha 2 anni di garanzia; se è andata e hai lo scontrino te la cambiano  ;)

no...guarda...in casa windows e una bestemmia...i nostri pc hanno solo ubuntu sopra (good)
so che e in garanzia ma magari se la riporto e la provano sul loro pc (che sicuramente avrà sopra windows) a loro va (per qualche motivo) e non prendono in considerazione il fatto che a me non funziona....non so...domani provo a contattare direttamente quelli della sandisk e farmi dire qualcosa...anche se dubito fortemente che possano risolvere... al massimo mi diranno di portargliela a riparare ma la penna non e rotta....avra qualcosa con il fs che non gli permette di andare avanti...boh >:(

ho provato svariate volte con
lsusb
ma nulla...mi vede tutto cio che e hard disk e usb collegato al pc ma non la penna...il guaio e che non la vede neanche come una qualche denominazione...zero

Guarda, se la prima volta l'ha vista e andava è molto probabile che sia difettosa, non è un evento raro.

Se hai un amico con pc-windows fai un'ultima prova e poi riportala al mediaworld.

ciao

probabilmente la strada è quella. Spero che non c' erano dati importanti. Di solito appena prendo una chiavetta ci gioco un po per vedere come va.
Un ultimo tentativo lo potresti fare.
Appena inserisci la chiavetta, aspetta qualche secondo e dai questo comando da terminale: dmesg.
Alla fine della lista ti da alcune indicazioni sugli ultimi eventi del pc. Sicuramente ti darà qualche errore ....
Facci sapere.

Mi pare ci sia, hai altre periferiche usb? prova a collegarla da sola e direttamente alla porta del pc, senza usare hub esterni.

Ciao.
Questo è l' elenco dei messaggi che il kernel (spero di non sbagliare) dà, durante il funzionamento.
I numerini davanti ad ogni riga indicano il tempo dall' accensione del PC.
Quindi inizierei col pulire tutte le righe iniziali che in questo caso sono inutili.
Poi, l' operazione da fare, dopo che il PC ha completato il boot, è quella di dare il comando indicato.
Fai caso alle ultime righe.
Inserisci la chiavetta USB.
Aspetta che il sistema lo va a riconoscere (aspetta circa 10 o 20  secondi, per sicurezza).
Mentre aspetti non fare niente, per favore.  :)
Poi ridai di nuovo il comando.
Sempre in fondo, dovresti trovare delle righe in + rispetto al comando precedente.

Con buona probabilità, anzi sicuramente, le nuove righe si riferiscono all' oggetto appena collegato.

Se non le trovi!!!!

Considerando che SICURAMENTE hai seguito il consiglio di JU, ed hai provato + porte, e che collegando un' altra chiavetta o HD esterno hai trovato dei messaggi ...... non ci sono + dubbi.
