Ciao a tutti, ho avviato la live Parted Magic per fare un controllo sui miei dischi che ultimamente facevano un po' di capricci e mi ha trovato questi errori per il mio hard disk ata

sono errori tutti riferiti più o meno allo stesso periodo ma non si sa se siano vecchi o recenti perché l'hdd misura il tempo in ore di utilizzo.

installa gsmartcontrol e avvia da quello un controllo del disco mediante smart (va bene pure quello rapido da 3 minuti)

quindi consulta il nuovo log e osserva il numero di ore, se oscilla tra 4700 ore allora gli errori di sopra sono recenti e dovresti pensare seriamente ad un backup urgente.
se l'orario del nuovo test riporta un numero di ore molto superiore, ad esempio 5000, 6000 allora quegli errori sono abbastanza vecchi, può essere che un certo giorno tu abbia avuto problemi al disco che si sono risolti da soli.

nello stesso programma troverai anche altre informazioni utili a decifrare gli errori

che non passi un messaggio fuorviante: gli errori smart sono errori registrati dal disco stesso, non può essersi sbagliato il sistema operativo.

ti ringrazio molto, il test che avevo fatto sul livecd era stato fatto proprio con gsmartcontrol; ora nel dubbio l'ho installato anche su ubuntu e ho fatto il test. Nonostante dice "Test result: test completed without errors" (il Short self-test), nella scheda Error Log vedo comunque degli errori:

Penso comunque di aver identificato l'origine di questi errori, ovvero spegnimenti drastici che sono stato obbligato a fare a cusa di un rumore strano alla ventola del processore...In ogni caso se il disco è danneggiato irrimediabilmente non è un grosso problema, ne compro uno nuovo, sata, e risolvo il problema...

oltre a completed without error dice anche il lifetime hours
se oscilla a circa 4700 sono errori nuovi

il test serviva solo a capire se si trattasse di errori di 1-2-3 anni fa di cui non ti frega più tanto, ma evidentemente non è così, quindi sono errori abbastanza recenti

la maggior parte sembrano errori di lettura
è possibile che il disco ti abbandoni, di più non si capisce da quei messaggi

ok, grazie mille. appena torno dalle vacanze mi compro un nuovo hard disk, sperando che questa resista ancora per le prossime 10, 15 ore massimo di vita
