E se faccio partire Ubuntu con il kernel -21 ? Vediamo ...

Che pessima esperienza, mi è sembrato di tornare a Windows ... ma quell'opzione al boot che fa scegliere il kernel con cui avviare Ubuntu non dovrebbe funzionare ? Ho provato 3 volte, 2 volte non si è proprio avviato ed una volta si è bloccato dopo 20 secondi ...

Ma comunque ho capito che non sarebbe servito a niente, il kernel in questione è 2.6.31 mentre quello che volevo far partire io è 2.6.32-21

Sono andato invece a rispolverare questi pacchetti precompilati di aggiornamento al driver em28xx:

lascia perdere che c'è scritto che sono per pinnacle, all'interno ho trovato che aggiornano qualcosa anche per il tuner xc5000 (che dovrebbe essere quello della 0092):

Incredibile novità : l'altro giorno stacco il tv tuner per collegarlo ad un pc con Windows, e noto che è molto caldo. Allora mi viene il dubbio, avvio Kaffeine, ed è magicamente riconosciuto ! Avvio la scansione dei canali e funziona tutto alla perfezione, registro anche un paio di minuti. Bene, oggi accendo il computer e ... il Tv tuner non è più riconosciuto ! In Kaffeine veniva visto come Zarlink ZL10353 DVB-T, ma ora mi da l'errore supporto non connesso. Com'è possibile ? Posto il risultato di dmesg :

In rete ho trovato questo post, dove sembra che il tipo abbia Ubuntu 10.04 e la stessa identica scheda mia :

Solo che a lui funziona il digitale ma non l'audio analogico. Carica anche il telecomando. Forse eseguendo la procedura che mi postavi nell'ultimo messaggio pre-miracolo su un Ubuntu 10.04 "pulito" dovrebbe andare ? Credi che posso provare da una live ?

Ho provato con il live, parte un modulo em28xx ma non funziona. Ho provato ad avviare Windows, per tentare di cambiare la modalità del sintonizzatore dal programma della Terratec, ma ora la scheda tv non viene più letta da Windows, resta fredda e non si accende la luce che indica il suo funzionamento. Quest'ultima invece su Ubuntu si accende, e la scheda si riscalda. Insomma, ora non riesco a vedere la tv nemmeno da windows. Credi che possa fare qualcosa ?

Il modulo em28xx contenuto nella live non può funzionare...devi installare il .deb adatto al tuo kernel.
Poi, pensandoci bene, dovresti installare anche il pacchetto linux-firmware-nonfree che contiene il firmware xc3028-v27.fw, necessario per attivare il tuner dvb-t della tua scheda. però dovresti poi riavviare...cancellando così i pacchetti installati  >:(
Perchè non succeda, dovresti provare, dopo che hai installato il .deb e il pacchetto dei firmware, a ricaricare il modulo:

Non credo che tu possa modificare la configurazione hw della scheda da windows...
Probabilmente hai corrotto il driver e devi reinstallarlo (su windows)!

Ho provato a reinstallare il driver su windows, ma il problema è che la scheda viene vista come device usb generico ed il driver non è riconosciuto.

Inoltre ho notato che da lsusb il riconoscimento della scheda è passato da :

Nessun software, ho seguito i passi che abbiamo fatto insieme da questo thread; da windows ho installato solo i driver oggi, ma cmq l'ID era cambiato prima di fare questa operazione. Ho compromesso la scheda ?

EDIT : Leggendo anche sul forum tedesco , credo che ormai il problema sia l'ID cambiato, perchè ci sono vari possessori della mia scheda che riescono a farla partire, anche se senza audio alla tv analogica ( non me ne importa granchè ... ) . Ho provato a cercare in rete, ma non ho la minima idea di come sia potuto cambiare l' ID e soprattutto di come poterlo cambiare. Spero vivamente di non aver causato un danno hardware che poi ha causato questo cambio di ID, ma francamente non so di cosa parlo e magari sto dicendo un cumulo di baggianate. Provo ad aprire un topic apposito per vedere se altri sanno come fare.

Non so cosa sia successo, ma il fatto sta che probabilmente si è sprogrammata l'eeprom con il bios della chiavetta

In quel forum parlano di questi eseguibili : http://ftp.terratec.de/Receiver/Cinergy ... e/History/ , che aggiornano il firmware. Purtroppo non sono presenti, come notavi tu, nella cartella della mia scheda ma a dire il vero questa T2 sembra una delle pochissime ad avere files del genere. Ho scritto alla Terratec, vediamo se sanno aiutarmi.

Scusa se non ti ho più risposto ma sono stato malato e adesso sono in ferie...

Sono contento che te l'abbiano sostituita senza storie 

Le possibili cause, penso, non siano imputabili a "manovre" a livello di sw.
Bisogna piuttosto stare attenti a non estrarre/inserire la chiavetta quando si sta inizializzando e, in specialmodo, quando sta facendo la scansione!
Altro non posso immaginare...  :-\

Quindi se adesso hai ancora gli ultimi em28xx installati con il file .deb e il firmware in /lib/firmware, attaccando la chiavetta...dovrebbe funzionare!

Anche io avevo pensato ad una cosa del genere, ma il fatto è che la sera avvenne la "magia", cioè la scheda funzionò con kaffeine, e la mattina  dopo, dopo aver solo spento il pc e non aver staccato la scheda, avvenne il "mistero", cioè la scheda non funzionava più e quindi era cambiato l'USB ID. Quasi come se il funzionare con Kaffeine avesse determinato il cambio. In ogni caso penso che reinstallerò Ubuntu da zero visto che devo farlo anche per altri motivi.
