Driver Nvidia.

Salve a tutti. Ho appena installato Lucid con i driver 173.14.22 consigliati di default. Tutto ok solo che appena sposto il cursore per regolare la brillantezza digitale dal pannello di controllo nvidia (apero da terminale con sudo!) si chiude immediatamete per poi darmi un errore di valore intero nella console! Cosa può essere? posso inserire manualmente tale opzione sul file xorg.conf? e se si come?

vai in sistema- amministrazione- nvidia xserver setting e modifica da la 
che scheda video hai?? ???

Geforce fx 5200. Già fatto, appena sposto il cursore col mouse mi spunta questo nella console:

Che scheda hai?
Sei sicuro che,per la tua scheda,i driver 173 fossero i più adatti?
Io sto usando quelli più recenti e non ho problemi.
Prova a controllare su Sistema-->Driver Hardware se ce ne sono di più recenti.
