Ciao a tutti,
scusate la domanda niubbia ma è da poco che uso linux e sono un pò spaesato.
Ho bisogno di leggere e scrivere su una pen drive usb e quindi montare la porta usb giusta. Non essendo molto ferrato ho cercato un pò in giro ma non trovo molto, o comunque al mio basso livello. Ho cercato un howto in questo sito ma non ho trovato nulla. In questo forum ho cercato ma le info sono tutte mirate a periferiche usb. Probabilmente dovrei mettere insieme quello che c'è nei vari post ma ho paura di fare confusione.
Nemmeno in questo link http://easylinux.info/wiki/Ubuntu_dapper_it ho trovato una "procedura".
Anche in google ho trovato indicazioni ma sono per utenti più esperti, mi parlano di versioni del kernel o altro.
C'è qualcuno che mi può indicare come si fa, quali pacchetti devo scaricare o inidcarmi un howto semplice per principianti?

Non mi viene creata nessuna icona sul desktop.
Mi è sembrato strano ma è così.
Mi ero dimenticato una premessa però, la chiavetta in questione è una di quelle piccole (come dimensione fisica) ed è USB2.0 con dati che vengono da windows (non so con che filesystem sia formattata), non l'avevo mai usata neanche con xp. Magari non c'entra nulla....

Dopo averla inserita digita da terminale lsusb e guarda se la riconosce

L'ho fatto ieri sera, ora non sono a casa, e mi dava un'elenco (che posterò stasera figli permettendo) delle 4 porte USB ma con una serie di zeri (0000).

ho provato con una chiavetta usb+lettoremp3 e funziona subito. Viene montata automaticamente.
Quella micro della sony no e questi sono gli output.

mi piace capire...con quel comando lui carica un modulo del kernel utile e necessario al montaggio dela penna?
...Meglio un terminale oggi Che un Crash oggi e domani...E dopodomani....

Con l'opzione -r il modulo viene rimosso, per le restanti opzioni vedi il man
