Casino coi runlevel (sysv-rc-conf)[Risolto]

Ciao ragazzi,
non me ne vogliate ma la mia cronica mancanza di voglia di fare i backup mi ha fatto combinare l'ennesimo casino, forse stavolta ho imparato. (mad)

Stavo seguendo questa guida per velocizzare il boot http://wiki.ubuntu-it.org/VelocizzareBoot ho tolto quindi i servizi che secondo me non erano usati dal mio sistema ed al riavvio dopo quache step il tutto si bloccava ad un "send all processes the TERM signal" senza alcuna possibilità di andare in una console virtuale.Dopo attimi/ore di panico l'unica soluzione che mi è venuta in mente per avere il sistema up al più presto è stata quella di riavviare con la live di ubuntu (anche se ero passato a kubuntu coi pacchetti dei repository) e copiare brutalmente il contenuto dei file contenuti nelle directory /etc/rc0.d - /etc/rc1.d...ecc fino alla rc6.d ed alla rcS.d dopo avere svuotato dai link che erano presenti prima.
Mi sono accorto solo dopo che però quelli sono proprio degli script e non dei link!
ho usato rcconf per aggiugere gli script scritti da me e che sapevo essere utili e, dopo qualche aggiustamento ora il sistema và ma è peggiorato anzicchè migliorato!inoltre allo shutdown si comporta come la live espellendo il cd anche se non presente ed attendendo un enter!
Se sapete come evitare quest'ultimo fastidio vi prego di dirmi qual'è lo script responsabile contenuto nel runlevel 0 ???

Inutile dire che il top sarebbe sapere esattamente quali crocette selezionare in sysv-rc-conf per ogni runlevel ed ottenere cosi i link giusti(se non ho inteso male!) e poter cancellare gli script dalle directory dei runlevel.

Se confermi che hai detto che in init.d sei sicuro di avere le cose giuste (cioe', non aver cancellato o modificato nulla)
ti "basta" ricreare i link...

Cioe', per ciascuno script dentro /etc/rcx.d/ , dovresti cavarlo e rifare il link al corrispondente script dentro /etc/init.d/
in pratica, per esempio, per

le cose che dovresti risistemare per prima dovrebbero essere rc2.d rcS.d ed rc6.d.

per sapere invece cosa avviare (cioe, cosa selezionare su sys-rc-conf), dipende un po' da cos'hai installato e vuoi avviare automaticamente all'avvio.

Ho parzialmente risolto visto che ho trovato lo script relativo a questa parte della mia domanda:

Se sapete come evitare quest''ultimo fastidio vi prego di dirmi qual''è lo script responsabile contenuto nel runlevel 0 ???

Lo script incriminato è casper (il fantasma? Carino come nome) presente nei runlevel 0 e 6 col nome di S89casper, è il penultimo ad essere eseguito.
Per sistemare i link credo che manchi qualche script alla mia directory init.d ma con un pò di pazienza, che adesso non ho, credo che riuscirò a sistemare tutto! (b2b)

Alla fine ho trovato la pazienza ma l'unico modo per risolvere è stato quello di ricreare i link simbolici a manina con istruzioni tipo:
sudo ln -sf /etc/init.d/screen /etc/rc?.d/S70screen(dove ? sono i vari runleve)
che mi hanno permesso di sovrascrivere i link simbolici agli script che avevo al loro posto.

Sto casino mi ha permesso di capire un pò di più la gestione dei runlevel e che l'how-to sulla velocizzazione del processo di boot è poco chiaro e troppo semplicistico visto che il programma suggerito, sysv-rc-conf, non permette di ricreare a dovere i link simbolici ai processi che devono essere cessati in un runlevel(quelli che cominciano con K) ma solo quelli da avviare (che cominciano con S).
Sarebbe il caso di integrare l'how-to con un avviso del genere e/o inserire in ubuntu lo strumento che usa debian per la loro gestione cioè update-rc.d, che non ho trovato nei repository ubuntu-kubuntu, e che sembra molto più comodo in caso di disastri!
Se qualcuno sa come fare...gli passo la palla.
