ho seguito passo passo la procedura e almeno adesso la camera viene riconosciuta lanciando lsusb

sembrerebbe dover funzionare tutto invece:  No no ...se apro cheese il led della camera si accende ma tutto resta nero come la notte  Bad
le impostazioni di cheese alla voce dispositivo dicono: snc9c20x USB 2.0 webcam driver (/dev/video0)
e quindi dovrebbe essere corretto ma allora perché?
chi può soccorrermi?
flagello82 che hai già aiutato quelli che come me hanno acquistato questa maledetta cam con il cip Microdia hai qualche idea in proposito?   Huh?

Hai provato a giocare con le impostazioni della can? io ho una trust e ho una rotellina.
Sennò, ti da altre webcam cheese, oltre quella?
Non uso Ubuntu per la sua filosofia LOL, ma perchè mi diverte di più. Non se ne può più di "Guarda che open non vuol dire gratis, winzozz è closed e la mela è chiusa...ecc..." Basta. Moderate le rosicate :D

purtroppo la cam non ha nessuna possibilità di regolazione è solo un obiettivo con la messa a fuoco e nulla più e cheese riconosce solo questa cam -- modifica>preferenze>USB 2.0(/dev/video0) oppure sn9c20x(/dev/video0) dopo aver caricato il driver sn9c20x -- >:( in entrambi i casi il risultato è lo stesso = schermo nero cheese funziona scatta foto, registra e salva i files ma all'apertura degli stessi il lettore multimendiale risponde. "lo streaming è vuoto"

mi devo scusare con tutta la comunità :-[ la webcam era sì in una scatola della trust ma osservandola meglio mi sono accorto che è marchiata Silver Crest (e chi è?) hanno messo una cosa dentro un'altra scatola
dato che è stato un gentile regalo credo che mi abbiano tirato un pacco ed inconsapevolmente lo stavo tirando a tutti voi cercando un aiuto per qualcosa di sbagliato.
comunque la sostanza non cambia: il chip è effettivamente un Microdia [Microdia PC Camera with Microphone (SN9C202 + OV9655)] della serie SN9Cxxx ma continua a non funzionare nulla e lo schermo resta sempre nero.
Rinnovo a tutta la comunità la richiesta di aiuto perchè per me la webcam è assolutamente necessaria

mi scuso ancora per l'errore non voluto e buona giornata a tutti
Se qualcosa può andar male, lo farà.  se ci sono due o più modi di fare una cosa,
e uno di questi modi può condurre ad una catastrofe,
allora qualcuno la farà in quel modo. 1 & 2 legge di Murphy

sembrerebbe dover funzionare tutto invece:  No no ...se apro cheese il led della camera si accende ma tutto resta nero come la notte  Bad

e quindi dovrebbe essere corretto ma allora perché?

Il mio sistema è Lucid L.10.04.1 su amd64 Sad Sad
ho smanettato ancora un poco ma niente non succede nulla. Inoltra se riavvio il computer i nuovi driver sembrano essere spariti e infatti dsmeg mi ritorna

se  digito i comandi

allora si riaccende il led -sempre con cheese- ma schermo nero

non so più che pesci (o pinguini) pigliare

Il passaggio a  Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat! ha risolto ogni problema
la camera funziona perfettamente (b2b) (b2b) (good) (good) :-*

Sembra che ubuntu non abbia un buon rapporto con le web cam xD anche a me non la riconosce sebbene all'inizio la riconosceva, pultroppo ancora adesso non funziona (bad)
