IT/ITE8212 Dual channel ATA RAID controller

Salve.
Premetto che ho gia' cercato nei forum ma non ho trovato nulla di non dico risolutivo ma nemmeno di tentabile.

Ho aggiornato da 9.10 a 10.04 LTS.

Risultato, il controller in oggetto ha smesso di funzionare, meglio ancora nella lista degli storage devices c'e' ma non appare nessun disco collegato.

Oltretutto al momento del boot si pianta la macchina e mi tocca porconare con una shell mai vista prima.

C'e' modo di risolvere il problema?

Ps: dimenticavo, con la 9.10 il disco lo vedevo senza problemi e il boot era regolare.

Perchè con la 9.10 funzionava?
Il mio è in un cassetto (E' una pci con raid ite8212 con 2 canali ide).
L'ultima che lo ha visto è la 7.10

Boh, so che funzionava 'sto accidente.

E' che il Pavillion dove ho installato Ubuntu non gestisce dischi p-ata e mi seccava perdere il vecchio 300 giga.
