Le istruzioni dicono:

        icoFoam -help

Il risultato sul mio terminale è:

spinosa@ubuntu:~$ icoFoam -help

Usage: icoFoam [-parallel] [-case dir]  [-help] [-doc] [-srcDoc]

Che significa?

significa che il comando icoFoam si può usare con le opzioni che ti vengono scritte.

Adesso per cominciare ad usare il programma, nella guida c'è scritto:

Getting Started

Create a project directory within the $HOME/OpenFOAM directory named -1.7.1 (e.g. chris-1.7.1 for user chris and OpenFOAM version 1.7.1) and create a directory named run within it, e.g. by typing:

    * mkdir -p $FOAM_RUN

Copy the tutorial examples directory in the OpenFOAM distribution to the run directory. If the OpenFOAM environment variables are set correctly, then the following command will be correct:

    * cp -r $FOAM_TUTORIALS $FOAM_RUN

Run the first example case of incompressible laminar flow in a cavity:

    * cd $FOAM_RUN/tutorials/incompressible/icoFoam/cavity
    * blockMesh
    * icoFoam
    * paraFoam

Refer to the OpenFOAM User Guide to get started.

Un'ultima cosa, ma qnd mi dice: Copy the tutorial examples directory in the OpenFOAM distribution to the run directory.
Come si fà?
Per trovare un programma in linux con le sue cartelle, come si fà?

spina1985, quello è solo un tutorial, ma è utile per farti capire alcune potenzialità del software. comunque, prima di imparare ad utilizzare openfoam, ti consiglierei vivamente di imparare ad usare linux, più che altro perché il primo è strettamente connesso al secondo.

sono d'accordo con quanto detto da zeruel85, ti conviene imparare almeno i comandi base per poter gestire un sistema linux.

detto questo, la guida ti scrive sotto il comando che devi utilizzare:
