Se in dapper avevi installato i driver, devi ripeterne l'installazione.
Edgy ha una versione più recente del kernel. devi riapplicare i moduli per l'hardware.

Rimuovi ogni pacchetto ndiswrapper e installa ndiswrapper-utils-1.8(installarà anche ndiswrapper-common).

Con edgy anche io ho avuto una marea di problemi a far andare ndiswrapper.
E come se la versione preinstallata nel kernel non andasse (o andasse male).
Ecco come ho risolto.
Lanciato synaptic ho cercato la voce

ndiswrapper

e quindi ho disinstallato tutti i pacchetti (sono 4 mi pare di ricordare)
Quindi ho scaricato l''ultima versione dal sito: http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/

e quindi:

sudo apt-get install build-essential
tar -zxvf ndiswrapper-1.28.tar.gz
cd ndiswrapper-1.28
make
sudo make install
sudo ndiswrapper -i "path dove hai i driver win della periferica wireless" (ex. sudo ndiswrapper -i /home/user/driver/pennetta.inf)
sudo ndiswrapper -l (dovresti vedere il driver installato)
sudo modprobe ndiswrapper

Anch io ho fatto così, sembra tutto ok, non da più nessun errore dopo il modprobe ma la scheda resta spenta :'( anche se mi da hardware present. Come posso scoprire qual è il problema (prima di tornare a dapper)? Uso linux da pochissimo tempo e non conosco molte procedure :-[

Come non detto! Al riavvio la scheda lampeggiava e tutto risulta OK!
