sono andato un po' avanti nella ricerca dei drivers adatti ad installare la scheda wireless PCMCIA Texas Instrument 54 Mbps sul s.o. Xubuntu 10.10. Questa scheda è utilizzata da diverse ditte, nel mio caso è la Hamlet.
Dopo l'iniziale aiuto di diversi netfriends del ns forum, ho continuato ad indagare sul web e sono arrivato a qualche risultato che certamente mi indica di essere sulla buona strada.
Con piacere pubblicherò i risultati ottenuti sperando che possano servire ad altri, che come me, si trovano al primo approccio col "mondo" LINUX, o che proprio oggi abbiano deciso d'interessarsene.
Quindi, il risultato interessante è che la scheda adesso viene riconosciuta dal sistema. Oltre ad avere le risposte di lettura da Xfce, vedo finalmente accendersi tutti e due i LED che indicano l'attività della scheda.
Ancora però non riesco ad ottenere la connessione wireless ad internet.
Forse servirà un software adatto per farla funzionare? Network Manager non la riesce a gestire? ...
A queste domande per ora non sono riuscito a trovare risposta, ma insisterò nelle ricerche e nelle prove. Questo lavoro è diventato per me un interessantissimo Hobby.
Ovviamente.... se qualcuno ha delle dritte da darmi per raggiungere l'obiettivo finale, io sono qui. Grazie.

First, just followed standard setup procedures:
* download and unzip driver
* install with ndiswrapper -i /WinXP/TNET1130.INF
* added module alias with ndiswrapper -m
