[Audio] Che cosa è JACK??

Salve ragazzi, premetto che sono novello del mondo linux.
Uso vari programmi per editing audio e mix, ma ho notato che quasi tutti i programmi mi chiedono la connessione a JACK. Che cosa è?
Ho provato a scaricare un Jack control ma non sono mai riuscito a farlo connettere..
VI PREGO AIUTATEMI!

PS. Chiedo scusa anticipatamente se non ho utilizzato la sezione corretta nel forum

c'ho provato, ma non sono riuscito a risolvere nulla...il jack control non riesce a connettersi al server..

grazie del link, è molto ben fatta come guida, solo che io ho sempre lo stesso problema, non riesce a connettersi a JACK!

Che scheda sonora hai? Ti funziona, normalmente?
Con quelle impostazioni di Jack, dovrebbe funzionare, non vedo nulla di strano.

Togli "Input device" e "Output device" (mettili su Default), ti si attiva l'opzione "Interface". Lì di fianco c'è un tastino con una ">", che premuto ti dà l'elenco dei dispositivi possibili. Quale hai scelto? Quali sono gli altri?

Vedo che sullo sfondo hai un player aperto. Lo devi chiudere: i software che usano Pulseaudio vanno chiusi prima di accendere Jack.

la musica si sente, solo che non riesco a capire perchè non viene scritta sotto hardware la mia scheda audio (realtek ac97) ma scrive solamente "audio interno 1 uscita/1 ingresso".
