Ubuntu 11.10 problemi webcam --RISOLTO !!

Ciao a tutti
ho aggiornato ubuntu dalla v. 11.04 a 11.10, ho riscontrato problemi con la webcam e il microfono sula stessa.
viene riconosciuta in lsusb:
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 041e:4058 Creative Technology, Ltd Live! Cam Optia AF
Bus 002 Device 003: ID 07ca:850a AVerMedia Technologies, Inc. AverTV Volar Black HD (A850)
Bus 005 Device 002: ID 045e:0734 Microsoft Corp. Wireless Optical Desktop 700
ma quando lancio cheese oppure luvcview  guvcview o altri programmi non viene visualizzato nulla nella finestra di capture
avete anche voi problemi simili

Mi associo al problema con la webcam. Premetto che il mio problema è limitato a cheese mentre se uso camorama la cam funziona perfettamente.
Lanciando invece cheese da terminale mi da i seguenti errori/avvisi:

ciao io credo di avere un problema molto simile, con lsusb la webcam viene riconosciuta, ma quando apro  i vari programmi tipo cheese ecc mi dice dispositivo non trovato
la webcam funziona provata su altro computer, fino a qualche giorno fa funzionava regolarmente,  (ps ogni tanto la web funziona sta cosa mi manda al manicomio!)
anche riavviando il pc il problema rimane ho provato un po di tutto ma non ne vengo a capo, inoltre ho una scheda di aquisizione dvb-usb
che funziona benissimo e stesso problema - usando me-tv oggi  mi dice dispositivo usb non trovato, ora funziona e non ho capito
perche forse che i due problemi siano correlati?

Ho provato anche ad installare GUVCViewer e come anche con Camorama la Web funziona bene, mentre con Cheese e Skype la immagini sono pessime e sgranate.

dunque sono impazzito cercando sui vari siti alla ricerca di una soluzione
--- installa questo , installa quell'altro pacchetto .............
alla fine sono giunto alla conclusione che il problema è sul kernel 3.0.x  qualche baco grosso come una casa
per cui ho fatto il downgrade del kernel in questo modo
scaricare i seguenti pacchetti io ho amd64 dal sito http://packages.ubuntu.com/
selezionate natty e come ricerca linux cliccate su linux-image (= 2.6.38.12.27) e scaricate  linux-image-2.6.38-12-generic_2.6.38-12.51_amd64.deb

poi fate una copia di /etc/apt/sources.list in /etc/apt/sources.lis.torig svuotate il file o commentate tutto /etc/apt/sources.list 
ed aggiungete      deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu natty-security main
poi
sudo apt-get update
sudo dpkg -i linux-image-2.6.38-12-generic_2.6.38-12.51_amd64.deb

sudo apt-get install linux-headers-2.6.38-12-generic

riavviate e funzionerà tutto di nuovo

Ho provato a seguire le istruzioni ma mi trovo di fronte ad un ulteriore problema: non riesco a copiare e rinominare il file /etc/apt/sources.list.

Il sistema segnala "Permessi per salvare il file insufficienti. Assicurarsi di aver digitato correttamente la posizione e riprovare"; ed in effetti andando a vedere le proprietà del file vedo che il Proprietario è 'root' e che può leggere e scrivere e che invece il Gruppo 'root' e tutti gli altri  possono solo leggere: Infine, solo il Proprietario può modificare questi permessi.

Con la versione precedente 11.04 non ricordo che avessi di questi problemi; ad ogni modo sono di nuovo fermo.

Avete idea di come possa risolvere?

a me invece la webcam cheese la vede...però su mozilla non la trova e nemmeno skype nonostante abbia seguito le procedure per la creazione degli script...

per modificare il file usa:
$ sudo cp /etc/apt/sources.list  /etc/apt/sources.list.orig
$ sudo vi /etc/apt/sources.list  commenta tutto  e aggiungi utilizzando "i"
con la mia procedura skype funziona che è una meraviglia sia audio che video, prima non andava nulla ne audio ne video con qualsiasi programma

ho lo stesso problema con la mia chiave wifi, mi spieghi con parole semplicissime come se parlassi ad un fesso  ??? come fare a fare un downgrade del kernel? oppure meglio sarebbe come modificare il driver per il kernel 3.0.xx

dunque vi spiego step by step la procedura
seguite il doc pdf allegato, le frecce indicano le selezioni da fare
seguendo il doc una volta scaricato il vostro linux-image.xxxx installatelo con il comando
$ sudo dpkg -i linux-image-xxxx.deb

durante l'istallazione vi darà un messaggio di errore sul linux-headers per questo dovete fare una copia del file originale
$  sudo cp /etc/apt/sources.list  /etc/apt/sources.list.orig

cancellate il file originale
$ sudo rm -rf  /etc/apt/sources.list

eseguite il comando

$ sudo echo  deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu natty-security main > /etc/apt/sources.list

eseguite
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install linux-headers-2.6.38-12-generic

rieseguite
$ sudo dpkg -i linux-image-xxxx.deb

l'installazione del nuovo kernel è stata fatta ed è stato aggiornato grub nel menu troverete una voce versione precedente eseguite quella

poi dovete ripristinare il file originale
$ sudo  cp /etc/apt/sources.list.orig /etc/apt/sources.list

ATTENZIONE
dovete bloccare l'update del kernel quando si cercano gli aggiornamenti utilizzando il gestore dei pacchetti, ricercando linux selezionare con il tasto destro e selezionare blocca questa versione

poi se volete potete rimuovere il kernel 3.0 così

$ sudo dpkg -r linux-image.xxx la versione se non sapete quale è l'anciate il comando sudo dpkg -l |grep linux
meglio di così non so fare

Mi devo però togliere una curiosità: io ho installato 11.10 (Oneric 11.10 Ocelot) mentre il Kernel che andrei ad installare sarebbe per Natty.
E' corretto, vero? perchè ora mi viene il timore che alla fine mi si pianti tutto.
