Problema negli aggiornamenti automatici

salve, sono in possesso di ubuntu versione "stabile", cioè quella che si aggiorna ogni tot di anni (non ricordo il num ora )
comunque sia, quando avvio gli aggiornamenti automatici ricevo questo errore:

W: Duplicate sources.list entry http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu/ lucid/partner Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/archive.canonical.com_ubuntu_dists_lucid_partner_binary-i386_Packages)

come posso risolvere?

C'è una riga duplicata nel file sources.list,aprilo con i permessi di root,da terminale:

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

e cerca la riga in questione,se trovi difficoltà posta il contenuto del file e vediamo qual'è

Hai un repository di Karmic... se stai usando Lucid non ti serve... da Terminale dai ancora:

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

e raggiungi l'ultima riga, cioè:

deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ karmic multiverse universe

e ci metti davanti un # poi salvi e ridai:

sudo apt-get update

fatto come hai scritto ma ora in apt-get update mi da questo:

mpossibile aprire il file di blocco /var/lib/apt/lists/lock - open (13: Permesso negato)
E: Impossibile bloccare la directory
