anchio ho problemi di riconoscimento dello scanner, e devo periodicamente quando faccio gli aggiornamenti, scaricare i drivers da avasys e poi modificare i file citati.
A proposito di /etc/udev/rules.d/45-libsane.rules mi sembra che sia 40 e non 45 ora non ricordo con precisione.
comunque se vuoi un programma di scansione più completo, usa xsane o iscan della epson da terminale.

ecco, ho guardato ed il comando esatto è "sudo gedit /lib/udev/rules.d/40-libsane.rules" quello del wiki è errato.
in questo aggiungi una riga uguale alle altre scrivendoci però gli indirizzi esatti 04b8 012f relativi al tuo scanner

Ok al secondo post che hai fatto, basta infatti scrivere una nuova stringa con i parametri che ti escono da lsusb.
Anche il comando /etc/sane.d/dll.conf è configurato correttamente.
Hai attivato il gruppo scanner in utenti e gruppi sotto >menu>sistema ?
Magari prova a vedere se sotto root funziona con il comando ta terminale sudo passwd root "tua passwd" "passwd unix a tua scelta" e nuovamente "passwd unix a tua scelta" poi esci o chiudi la sessione ed entra come root per vedere se funziona.

Cosa vuoi dire con gruppi? Spiegati meglio
