ho un sistema dual boot xp/ubuntu correttamente configurato
solo che il boot di ubuntu è lentissimo (rimane bloccato all inizio del caricamento per parecchi minuti poi prosegue) e il problema è del secondo hard disk... prima infatti quando avevo solo 1 hd nn c'era problema, appena collegatone un altro è iniziato il problema
ho smanettato un pò con hdparm ma nn ho risolto niente

Prova a postare la riga del file /etc/fstab che corrisponde al secondo hard disk.
Eventualmente cerca anche nell'outpud di dmesg se riesci a trovare la parte relativa all'errore.

il problema è l'attivazione del dma sul secondo hd... quando cerco di attivarlo con hdparm si freeza tutto e riparte dopo un po senza dma attivato
