salve a tutti ho un problema
la mia wireless viene riconosciuta da ubuntu e da wlanassistant, ho installato anche network manager e la vede anche lui, inserisco la chiave ma non riesco a connettermi, wlanassistant, mi da il canale, la qualità del segnale e riconosce l'essid.:
domande:
1: network manager basta lanciare il file bin e basta? si vede il demone vicino all'orologio.
2: può essere che non ho installato wpa_supplicant per la chiave?

Ti consiglio di prendere la versione cvs: http://rt2x00.serialmonkey.com/rt2500-cvs-daily.tar.gz
Dopo di che, installalo e configuralo seguendo la guida per rt73. Cambia il nome ma i passi sono gli stessi. E per usare il wpa puoi fare a meno di wpasupplicant...

wlanassistant mi da i stessi valori ma iwconfig non mi scrive più l'essid e in /network è presente. te lo posto

Beh ovviamente il file del firmware avrà nome diverso da quello della guida, cosi come le cartelle da creare. Leggi il readme incluso nel file che hai scaricato per le istruzioni di installazione.
Poi posta i risultati di ifconfig e iwconfig e anche di sudo iwlist scan

pe quanto riguarda la guida il nome dei file lo avevo già cambiato ma leggendo il file readme ho risolto per il firmware, dice di configurarlo, ma è un fiole binario e non si apre. questo è ciò che mi hai chiesto.

Ma hai un'altra interfaccia wireless in eth1 ? Una broadcomm a quanto pare.
Comunque... il firmware dovrebbe essere stato caricato correttamente, perchè l'interfaccia ra0 funziona.
A questo punto vedo che ti manca sia l'associazione all'ap, sia l'indirizzo ip. La prima cosa è strana, visto che dovresti aver settato correttamente la configurazione in /etc/network/interfaces. Forse dovresti provare a mettere degli indirizzi ip statici....
Comunque, proviamo lo stesso:

Comunque non vorrei che il tuo ssid con so spazio possa creare problemi, come in quel comando. Prova a togliere lo spazio anche sul router, per esempio ReteCasa

ciao purtroppo non poso cambiare l'essid ma ho provato cambiare in "Rete Casa" e ReteCasa ma nulla da fare, inoltre ho fatto le prove cambiando la Key dato avendo delle lettere non so se erano maiuscole o minuscole.. risultato come quello pèostato

programmi come wlanassistan o wifi-radar o kwlan che dicono?

wlanassistant mi vede la rete come Rete Casa canale 6, 6 stelle di qualità segnale, il segnpo del lucchettoe l' AP, allora imposto la key ma mi da connessione fallita..
un poarticolare quando avio wlanassistan mi apre un popup che mi dice:
You might have insufficient permissions for Wireless Assistant to function properly.
Did you run it using 'sudo'?

e premo il tasto ok ed entro, leggendo i dati che ti ho scritto
non sò che fare..!!!!

Io proverei con un ip statico. Presuppongo che l'indirizzo del router sia 192.168.1.1, nel caso non fosse cosi, cambia tutto

network ha lo stesso ip del gateway, con lo zero in fondo
