Ubuntu restricted extras, Libdvdread4 e Libdvdcss2

Ciao a tutti,

avevo il problema della lettura del DVD così, seguendo la sezione Multimedia/FormatiProprietari, ho installato Libdvdread4, Libdvdcss2, Ubuntu-restricted-extras, ma il povero Vlc continua a non leggermi i DVD.
Essendo un prode-principiante ho il dubbio che i programmi siano stati installati correttamente, ma così sembra se guardo l'Ubuntu Software Center.

Qualcuno può aiutarmi?

hai installato anche i pacchetti w32codecs/w64codecs a seconda del tuo cpu hardware?

si infatti li ho presi in fretta e non ho visto se erano giusti. li ho già riscontrati da qualche altra discussione gli errori di cdrecord e wodim, sembra un bug.

hai provato dal menu di vlc/apri disco (o qualcosa del genere ,su questa installazione non ho vlc) e a dispositivo,scegli dal menù a tendina /dev/sr0 ?

hai provato a togliere e rimettere il dvd e poi riavviare vlc ,potrebbe essere (non sono sicuro) che /dev/sr0 rimanga impostato

Mah...
prima quando inserivo il dvd mi apriva una cartella nella quale mi visualizzava due sottocartelle chiamate "Audio" e "Video" o qualcosa del genere e mi chiedeva di aprirlo con MovieQualcosa. Ora inserendo il DVD non mi apre niente...ma se apro io VLC, passando per sr0, funziona correttamente.
Inoltre in alto a destra mi compare un bel triangolo rosso con un punto esclamativo al suo interno nel quale mi dice che "The update information is outdated...e in sintesi mi dice che c'è qualche repositories che non funziona bene.
Consigli?
