Ciao a tutti

come da topic, ho installato Kubuntu Edgy AMD64 su un Acer E380 :

Athlon X2 3800+
1gb RAM
HD 320Gb
VGA GeForce 7950GT 512Mb (ho cambiato quella in dotazione standard, una Radeon X1550)

Visto così sembra ok, ma non mi trova eth0; anche configurando a mano /etc/network/interfaces se faccio un ifup eth0 mi da' errori di "No such device" (ho bisogno di collegarmi alla LAN locale

Dando un lspci ho notato che tutti i devices riportano le giuste indicazioni ma sono tutti contrassegnati come "Unknown Device" (es. Ethernet controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. Unknown device 4364 (rev 12))

Cosa posso tentare?

Per la cronaca, sto rispondendo da una distro Live, Sabayon (basata su Gentoo) e va che è una meraviglia con beryl e quant'altro. Non mi piace per come gestisce poi il software, vorrei insistere con ubuntu/kubuntu/quelchel'è...

Risolto, penso fosse proprio un problema di kernel

Ho installato una vecchia scheda 3COM PCI che avevo in giro e me l'ha lasciata configurare, a quel punto ho fatto un update ad un kernel più recente ed ha funzionato :)
