[Risolto] Problema con 2º schermo con adattatore USBC-DVI

Ciao a tutti.

Ho un problema a collegare un secondo monitor al mio portatile.
Siccome solo dispongo dell’uscita HDMI e mi serve usre un cavo DVI ho comprato un adattatore da USB-C a DVI/VGA/HDMI/USB3.

Purtroppo non funziona. Se collego all’adattatore una chiavetta USB la riconosce e legge immediatamente (quindi suppongo che l’adattatore funzioni e il mio sistema lo riconosca) pero ho provato sia con cavo HDMI che con DVI e VGA e non funziona nessuno dei 3. Il portatile non si accorge che è stato collegato un monitor.

Ho provato l’adattatore su un computer con windows e su un MacBook PRO e funziona perfettamente con entrambi.

Sistema: Ubuntu 16.04 (kernel 4.13.0-43-generic)

Prova a installare qualche driver: http://www.displaylink.com/downloads/ubuntu oppure:

Grazie mille. Ho provato a seguire la guida e installare i driver pero niente. Continua a non funzionare.

Se faccio il tail al systlog si accorge quando collego l'adattatore però non da nessun segnale di vita quando provo a collegare un monitor esterno.

Ho risolto il problema. Ho dovuto entrare nel bios in Advanced Chipset Control e cambiare la Display Digital Interface (DDI) control da DDI to mDP (mini Display Port) a DDI to TBT (Thunderbolt).

Adesso ovviamente se volessi usare la mDP dovrei di nuovo cambiare la opzione nel bios.

Adesso mi resta l'indecisione di se disintallare o no i driver displaylink......
