gedit 3.36.1, manca menù tre linee per accedere a preferenze

Salve, ho notato che su gedit 3.36.1 non trovo il tasto con le preferenze, ho allegato un'immagine.
Nemmeno nel menù in alto compare nulla, eppure cercando su internet vedo che dovrebbe esserci, questa un'immagine di come dovrebbe essere:

Le preferenze non sono più sotto forma di menu classico ma sono raggiungibili cliccando sul tasto con le lineette a desra accanto al tasto Save (Salva)

) Salve, a dirla tutta dall'icona colle lineette s'accede a ben poche opzioni.

Per accedere a tutte le opzioni devi installare Dconf-Editor, avviarlo e poi seguire il percorso org → gnome → gedit.

dall'icona con le lineette c'è un menu a discesa con vari sottomenu pieni di altre opzioni, preferenze a sua volta ha poi ha quattro sottomenu

Scusate forse era poco chiaro: so bene che le preferenze sono nel menù con le 3 linee, l'immagine nel corpo del messaggio serviva proprio ad evidenziarlo. La schermata del mio pc è però quella in allegato nel primo messaggio, dove si vede che a destra del tasto "Save" non c'è il pulsante suddetto.
Qualcuno ha lo stesso problema?

In dconf-editor non ho trovato nulla che assomigli ad una opzione in proposito.

Sì in Nautilus c'è, così come nel terminale ed altre applicazioni Gnome.

Purtroppo i comandi non hanno risolto, dopo averli lanciati ho provato anche a riavviare. In merito ai temi, non ne ho installati, però ho cambiato più volte tra i 3 temi di default light/standard/dark.
Aggiungo che avviando gedit da terminale non leggo errori, posso tentare altro?

Sono totalmente inesperto di cose simili, posso solo dirti che se fosse mio proverei a chiudere la sessione e rientrare, e se è su xorg proverei wayland o viceversa. E poi aspetta che passi un esperto, per quel che vale io non credo sia un problema di gedit

Corrado, per cortesia, non consigliare comandi che cancellano cose che non hanno a che fare con l'applicazione, lì cancelli tutti i dati di tutte le applicazioni, e gedit manco la usa la .cache....

Dal tuo allegato sembra tu abbia Ubuntu in inglese, allora se non hai paura dell'inglese non devi avere neanche paura di launchpad, fatti un account launchpad e apri l bug.

Sì mi pare solo gedit: in altri programmi GNOME tipo nautilus, calc, drawing le vedo.

Non mi pare di vedere errori, se mi confermi che è così apro il bug come suggerisce corrado.

PS: vedo che le guide fanno riferimento ad ubuntu-bug ma io non ce l'ho e non lo trovo nemmeno nel software center, come lo installo?

ubuntu-bug non credo sia un programma ma un comando del sistema, non occorre installarlo.
Prima ti crei l'account launchpad come spiegato nei miei link, poi
tieni aperto il tuo gedit con il problema (conviene tenere aperto anche firefox o altro browser)
dai alt+f2 e ti compare la finestra comandi, dai il comando 'ubuntu-bug -w'
ti compare una finestra che ti invita a cliccare sulla finestra del programma in errore...
a questo punto fa tutto da solo.
ATTENZIONE: se usi la sessione Wayland 'ubuntu-bug -w' non funziona, devi dare 'ubuntu-bug <pid>' ove pid è il pid della tua applicazione

a proposito: il tuo problema è con X11 o con Wayland?

edit: in 'man gedit' consiglia di aprire bug su https://wiki.gnome.org/Apps/Gedit/ReportingBugs ma è MOLTO più complicato perché dovresti raccogliere 'a mano' tutti i log e le trace necessarie a documentare il problema mentre 'ubuntu-bug' tutto il lavoro lo fa da solo.

Ora, non so come hai fatto a far scomparire quel menù, perché è una cosa proprio strana... Hai provato temi diversi? Hai provato a impostare in tema predefinito di GNOME Adwaita?

Appunto, il fatto che sia diverso non è un caso... e se rileggi l'output c'è "removed" proprio sul menù degli strumenti

È probabile che sia un problema del tema usato.




P.s.: pure tu con sto inxi... ma è una moda? È un problema di gtk che c'entra l'hardware?
