Problemi risoluzione ubuntu/Kubuntu

Allora in ubuntu feisty la risoluzione del log screen è troppo elevata come posso cambiarla?
In kubuntu come setto la risoluzione del desktop? grazie mille

non dovrebbe esserci solo la risoluzione 1680x1050?? eppure il monitor viene tagliato in basso come se la risoluzione fosse maggiore.... su kubuntu non c'è un tool come su ubuntu per selezionare la risoluzione?

nessuna idea? a me sembra molto strano che non ci sia nessun tool su kubuntu per decidere la risoluzione e che kubuntu utilizzi una risoluzione diversa da quella che c'è sul file xorg.xonf...
