Dubbio sulle differenze delle sources.list

Ora io mi domando. Molti indirizzi di repository fra l'una e l'altra sono differenti.
Cosa bisogna veramente sostituire? Cosa si può mantenere?

beh intsanto se vai a vedere l'indirizzo dei repository dei due files ti rendi conto che il primo rimanda ai repo degli stati uniti.

mentre il secondo usa i repo ufficiali di Canonical..

Si, è vero.

Ma guarda anche gli ultimi 6 repository della list originale.

Sono quelli relativi alla sicurezza. Il che dovrebbero essere omogenei per entrambe le liste.

Però nella seconda, quella consigliata, non si hanno traccie di molti di questi repository. Perchè non sono stati messi tutti?

Ma soprattutto a cosa servono? Cosa veramente contengono?

In quella consigliata mancano perchè se ne può fare a meno?

credo sia più probabile che in canonical abbiano integrato i pacchetti del magari in main o in backports o ancora in multiverse o in universe togliendoli così di fatto dal sources.list, a differrenza dei repo americani che hanno i soliti.

diversamente trovo sia un grossolano errore, quello di fare a meno dei security updates. (se anche solo ipotizziamo l'esistenza di un bug-0-days tutti quelli che hanno la nuova lista si ritroverebbero il sistema seriamente in pericolo --per non parlare poi della privacy--)

chi propone quella lista dunque, è meglio se sa quello che fa, sennò potrebbero essere dolori per un sacco di people..

Perdonami la domanda.

In definitiva va bene sostituire la lista originale con quella consigliata.

Però si potrebbero tenere i security repository di quella originale cancellando la sezione di quella consigliata?

Nella lista consigliata c'è tutto quello di cui hai bisogno. Puoi eliminare il vecchio sources.list senza problemi
